Chris Brown Could Do Nine Years in Prison

Chris BrownSo why, you ask, was Chris Brown booked for making criminal threats rather than domestic abuse, given the victim -- we're told Rihanna -- had "visible injuries"?

Law enforcement sources tell us they typically book a suspect for the most serious crime they can be charged with -- it's then up to the D.A. to file any additional charges.

Given there were allegedly visible injuries, the crime of making criminal threats is punishable by up to nine years in prison. Domestic abuse is four years.

32. 9 Years, in LA, surely you jest. He will probably get a parade. The only fameous people who do any jail time at all are the non violent ones like Paris.

33. I have to say it's sad that people are saying "he doesn't look like an abuser." There is no specific "look" to an abuser. My best friend's husband was quiet and shy, but seemed decent enough. He put a gun to her head one day and she finally came clean. I was shocked but there to support her.

My neighbor's teenage daughter tried to run over her boyfriend in my front yard. Never saw that coming and all I can say is I'm glad I was there to get him to a safe place until police showed up.

The best thing you can do for abuse is to NOT turn your back when and if it happens. Blaming the victim saying she/he had it coming is even worse. Reach out, even if you are not sure the abused will accept the help.

34. ..Deserved a beatdown?? So then are you saying that if Rihanna does something that CB does not like then it is ok if he assaults her with a deadly weapon? I guess you are and that makes you as sick as CB.

40. I hope that little pathetic excuse for a singer loses his fans. I can't stand these "celebrities" that get negative publicity and get away with it. It sends the wrong message to the kids that follow them and look up to them.

Please his stupid ass in jail and set an example. Then kids will realize you can't hit a woman (or vice versa) and get away with it.

He needs to lose his endorsements just like Michael Phelps did when he only smoked a bong ... which only affects him. This little boy inflicted an illegal act upon someone else ---- even though I can't stand that little girl either --- no one deserves any form of violation from another pathetic person.

42. Ok, first of all i will agree that any man who abuses a woman is worthless. Stop with the "he's gay" and all that. Why aren't you intelligent enough to get your point across without insulting a group of people that aren't even slightly involved in the situation.

*************************************************************
The person called him a singer and you call that person an idiot because you say Chris is R&B? R&B, the last time I checked, is a style of music. So, the comment is correct So, what was your point?

44. Unfortunately because Chris Brown is a so-called celebrity, he'll probably get probation unlike the rest of us if we'd committed the same crime. If he's guilty, I hope he gets jail time. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with what a lesser known person wouldn't be able to get away with. Justice shouldn't be based on how much money you have or who you know. Or, who knows you.

45. I dont believe that Chris would ever do such a thing he seems so nice and I think that he shouldnt go to jail because he seemes like that he wouldnt do that I think that maybe Rihanna might have done that to herself and blamed it on Chris...
