16. It's not such a big deal... this happen in 2003 not in 2008. Let it go people, he still going to be around, and he still going to be a Yankee player, he is a good player I really don't think by him being on steroids in 2003 has changed his numbers, if not the Yanks would of won the las 4 championships. He is human, people make mistakes, and no one is perfect, it was a bad judment on his part, haven't we all ever done somehting that has eventually caught up to us? We need to stop judging people. All players have their own skills and talents, if kids see them as role models I suggest parents speak to them about the good, the bad and the ugly things that might happen in the sports industry, so they won't go and follow the wrong footsteps.

17. The point is this you idiots! His reasoning behind doing it was " I had to keep up with everyone else!" And CarolJane you are a kook!!!!!!!!!!! No Carol everyone isn't on drugs. This Dude makes millions of dollars a year and his fan base are young kids who aspire to play little league and pretend to be Alex Rodriguez just like A-Rod pretended to be willie mays or who ever when he was little. The people who cheat get a free pass he only told the truth cause he got caught. if your defending him your a shady person to. Im sick off fake a$$ bit3$es!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

20. You people are all so silly. All pro athletes use steroids. Anybody with a physique like A Rod uses steroids. They don't neccesarily run the huge bodybuilder doses...but they consider them just another aid in their training.

21. Amen Cat... I hate those assholes that criticize your spelling because they dont agree with what you said. I MEAN WROTE OH GOD IM SUCH AN IDIOT I CANT POSSIBLY HAVE A GOOD POINT BECAUSE MY SPELLING AND/OR GRAMMAR WAS NOT PERFECT!! I dont know A-Rod personally but if hes a nice person I feel bad for him because everybody did steroids in professional sports and hes the only one being publicly humiliated over it. Its not fair. If theyre going to release one name they should release them all. I understand the New York Press hates him and thats why they only leaked his name but c'mon...

24. yet another reason athletes should NOT be considered role models by anyone, for every roided up cheater, there is an unintelligent college drop out who butchers the English language on a daily basis. It's a shame the things that Americans consider to be worthy of worship.........MONEY

25. If he was juicing when we he broke records and posted high #'s, this affected his salary negotiations based off performance, Yankees should fine him and DUMP HIM!

26. Why is this such a big deal anyway? It's like you people still think of baseball as the "Great American Pastime." It's not; those days probably ended long before most of the people at this site were born. In the old days, people toiled out in the fields, and, as a result, they ended up stronger and could hit harder and longer. As technology advances, the human race gets more and more punkass-ish and all their muscles end up being just for show. The only thing that makes baseball interesting is when people hit home runs, and they only way they hit them is by being on steroids. Take the steroids out of baseball, and I can guarantee that there will be a bunch of whiny bitches going on about "it's not fun anymore" and "why does baseball suck?"

27. Forgot something: That report stated that 103 OTHER people tested positive for banned substances that year. So why weren't any of them MVP?

28. lol the Yankees can't fine or dump him, in 2003 the use steroids was legal reason why he didn't get punished back then. Also a lot of baseball players were using it, everyone's baseball manager and officials and whomever was involved in the high end of the sport knew that players were using reason why they did the test, to see how many players were using. I really don't blame him, it was legal back then. He is a good player with or without the juice. So for those people who dislike or hate him sad to say that he will still be playing in the Yankees and its for sure that any other team would of love to have picked him up in 2004 including the Red Sox, but fortunately the Yanks have him and he will do great this season.

29. it was NOT...repeat..NOT acceptable at the time. the substances he used were banned and even if they weren't, self-respecting players DON'T JUICE.
