Chris BrownIt only took Chris Brown a week since we broke the story of his alleged beatdown of Rihanna to release a statement... but here it is.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds."

A spokesperson for Rihanna declined to comment.

They all seem to have been in that car with you two. After all, why else would any sane person make the statement the NO.1. made unless she was in the back seat. 22. I'm on Chris Brown's side. I'm still a fan. Why is everyone hating him now? what about Rihanna? She had to do something to tick Chris off. She had to play some big part in this whole thing. Stop making it seem like she's innocent. Even the project runway winner said "she's a diva". She had to do something to Provoke Chris. I'm not saying what He did wasn't wrong but it just doesn't seem like he would go back on his words like that.[never hitting a woman] Why is he the only one speaking out? No one has heard from Rihanna, and you know what, her story keeps changing. Are we really sure she's being truthful? i don't know, but the story is going to come out. Only Chris Brown and Rihanna know what really happened that night. I hope they both recover from this. They are both very talented artists.

26. This guys is nothing but a typical woman abuser who will say sorry but make excuses. This pattern is well known and more then likely he will continue unless he REALLY faces the music, which in these type of cases are a rarity. Chris, stop dodging the real issue and face up to it, really. This is the only way you even have a chance at saving your career.
