33. The only one dumb enough to have his picture taken smoking a bong, actual evidence. But eight others get arrested without proof. I love this country,no wonder why we are gone down the crapper. I would have loved to see him cry like a little bitch in the back seat of a cop car like paris.

35. CORRECTION TO PREVIOUS: I do agree with #15's comment, but it was #17's that I thought said it best. All these hypocrites can tell their spouses that they no longer want head because (oh my god!) it's illegal. Soon enough, these martini swilling hypocrites will die off and we can make things right. And, #26, you have a unique perspective, glad you recognize the difference between the substances you are addicted to and MJ. If only everyone could be as intelligently open-minded.

Not one death has ever been directly linked to marijuana itself. Although, many legal drugs cause hundreds to hundreds of thousands of deaths per year, foremost among them are alcohol, nicotine, valium, aspirin, and caffeine. This isnt even including the many deaths/abuse from prescription meds.

Doctors determine how safe a drug is by measuring how much it takes to kill a person (they call this the LD50) and comparing it to the amount of the drug which is usually taken (ED50). This shows that marijuana is hundreds of times safer than alcohol, tobacco, or caffeine. A DEA Judge even states, ``marijuana is the safest therapeutically active substance known to mankind.''

Then Lott had the audacity to use an example to point that marijuana causes you to murder, as he said that inmates had confessed to.

What is this? Reefer Madness? Really, murder? What a poor excuse for a scare tactic that hasn't even been used since the 20's and was thrown out of the govt's "reasons to not smoke pot". The chose not to use this angle due to users and experimental results proving false to this accusation.

Cannabis was given the name marijuana to make this herb sound foreign as a way to bring the people to fear the use and users of this harmless herb, another "bullet" in the war on drugs. Cannabis is NOT a gateway drug. There is NO such thing as a "gateway" drug. If you are curious to try substances, that is your decision. There is nothing in cannabis causes you to try other drugs.

In 1999, There were 40 million people in this country (U.S.) who have smoked marijuana for a period of their lives -- why aren't there tens of millions of heroin users, then? In Amsterdam, both marijuana use and heroin use declined after marijuana was decriminalized, even though there was a short rise in cannabis use right after decriminalization.

When Nixon was in office, being as determined as he was to stop the use of cannabis, he noticed the exceedingly high reported use of heroin and heroin addiction to individual users. The soldiers were coming back from Vietnam smuggling this drug and helped bring it in to the states. Nixon found this was a perfect opportunity to use this for the war on marijuana and stated that with the use of marijuana, users turned to a harder drug, heroin, which started the "gateway" idea.

How do we know it was weed in the bowl? Why the ___ else would he be publicly apologizing?
