to whoever wrote this: you're a definite R-TARD. Stop using caps. Heath Ledger was an amazing actor. In case you have not seen "The Dark Knight" I suggest you should. He's one many awards and he's up for an Oscar which is what he deserves. I think he is absolutely gorgeous and since when do you need "leading man good looks" to be a great actor? Look at Mickey Rourke. He has gone absolutely down hill in the past physically and he did amazing in "The Wrestler"

And he died of a dangerous overdose of different medications. He didn't commit suicide.


And Matilda is absolutely beautiful. She looks just like her amazing father.

34. He died of an accidental overdose on prescription drugs. It is NOT illegal to be prescribed drugs, nor to take the drugs that you are prescribed. It's not like he died of a heroin overdose. The OFFICIAL ruling was that it was completely accidental, and on pills that were legally prescribed to him, yet all of you want to say he abused drugs and was a terrible person. You cannot have an "opinion" on how someone passed. That is a fact based issue. He either died one way, or he didn't. It's not up for a debate. Can't you just let the man rest in peace? It's sick what you're doing. He's been gone over a year, let him rest and his family live in peace. I think his loss was enough for them to bear, they don't need you all spreading your harmful and hate filled opinions. If you don't think he deserves the award based on his acting, then fine. But you need not attack his personal life. They Academy Award is for an outstanding achievements in acting, not being perfect in your personal life. Keep the two separate.

35. Looks like some of you dont understand the awards tonight. Heath is not getting a special award, his performance in batman as the joker got him a shot at best supporting actor in a movie. Not an award because he is dead. Regardless about what his life style was like he did a great performance as the joker so they nominated him for an award. If we stopped all stars that did any kind of drugs... lol well there wouldnt be an awards show. Calling a little girl ugly is just bad taste. She is another little girl born in to a acting family that is gonna grow up fatherless Kinda like kurt cobains daughter. But lets pray that michille williams stays a good mom, unlike courtney love..... And from what i read Heath did not die from any illegal drugs, was perscription drugs mixed the wrong way They say he had phnumenoia and was hurting..... I am just repeating what they said on news

38. Eric, YankeeDoodle and Jan...you 3 are so pathetic. Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose. It was a tragic accident. And I hope he does win an Oscar. His performance in The Dark Knight was absolute genius. The man was a very talented actor and it is sad that he died so young.

41. i hope he wins because he deserves to win.. of all the supporting actors nominated.. he did the best job of the lot...
little matilda does look just like dad.. what a sweet cutie!... that being said.. i think michelle is kind of riding on the sympathy coat tails... her only claim to fame right now is being heath's ex girlfriend.. and matilda's mother.. if she wants to be in the spotlight. .then she needs to perfect her craft and get a few good roles.. not be there because of her child.

42. as tragic as his death may be, i didnt see him as a great actor, nor did i think he acted reasonably on his own behalf. he never should have taken so many pills from different sources....he should have had one doctor, one person for medical advice.
the real tragedy here is the child..and the constant media attention that she would never have gotten had not died..he was no great leading man..and had he paid more attention to himself ?? his daughter might not be fatherless...all the awards in the world wont change that.

44. She's adorable and looks just like her daddy. First of all, Heath died because of the combination of prescription drugs that he'd taken. Prescription drugs interact with each other. Any of us could have that happen to them. Unfortunately, our society depends way too much on prescription drugs. While I'm not particularly a Ledger fan, his little girl is quite the cutie, maybe someday she'll fulfill his acting shoes.
