DMX and Earl Simmons want you to know he did not assault an Arizona corrections officer with a loaded food tray -- as he is being accused of doing.

X (sorry, we mean Earl Simmons) released a statement yesterday saying in part, "Many of you know me as DMX but right now I am speaking to you as Earl Simmons ... For the record, I want to state 'I Did Not' physically touch or hit an officer. This is just another attempt to destroy my credibility."

Sorry Earl, you did a pretty good job of destroying it on your own.

BTW -- if you haven't been following all of X's escapades in Tent City jail -- where Charles Barkley is also set to serve time -- X is accused of throwing a food tray at an officer after he was accused of stealing an extra meal.

19. IF ANYONE HAD BOTHERED TO CHECK THE FACTS, DMX WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SERVED A LOAF OF BREAD IN A STYROFOAM BOX. THE OFFICER "ACCIDENTALLY" GAVE HIM A STYROFOAM BOX WITH STEW. WHEN THE OFFICER REALIZED HIS "MISTAKE" OF FEEDING A HUNGRY MAN STEW INSTEAD OF BREAD IS WHEN THE "ALTERCATION" OCCURRED. THIS IS ARIZONA AFTER ALL I WOULDN'T EXPECT ANYTHING LESS FROM THE A**HOLES THAT WEAR UNIFORMS IN THIS FINE STATE OF MINE. THERE ARE A LOT OF JAIL POLITICS, DON'T KID YOURSELVES. EVERYONE HAS CIVIL RIGHTS AND IS ALSO ENTITLED TO DUE PROCESS , WEATHER YOU LIKE THEM OR NOT, WEATHER YOU THINK YOU ARE ABOVE THEM OR NOT. EVEN PEOPLE IN ORANGE JUMPSUITS HAVE RIGHTS AND AFTER EATING ONLY BREAD THEN BEING SERVED A MEAL BY "ACCIDENT" THEN HAVING IT TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU, WHO WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN ANGRY. 22. Not saying this is what happened, but...its a common technique in prisons (for the guards who like to punish and humiliate). You take the prisoner's meal and dump it and make him clean it up. If he refuses, charge him with trying to steal a meal and/or throwing meal at officer. Throwing a meal on the floor is not chargable, neither is "stealing" a 2nd. The only way to make the charge stick is with the petty assault.

Word to the wise, if they bring out video (EVERY area in a prison is under video survailance), then its legit. Otherwise, DMX just pissed off the wrong guard.
