Maria Conchita Alonso, who co-starred with Sean Penn way back in 1988's "Colors," went off on Penn in a way we've rarely seen -- basically saying he's a moron when it comes to politics -- especially his support of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. The Cuban born actress was raised in Venezuela and says Chavez is a "killer."

48. This 2 bit, has been, no talent FAT actress needs to shut her face. Not only is she the typical stereotype of an uneducated latin american person but she hasn't lived in cuba or venezuela for DECADES. Not only is Hugo Chavez a hero to the peasants of his country but he is a symbol of change in a world that licks at the tit of the US for a drop of milk.
If any of you would take the time out to actually READ REAL NEWS SOURCES instead of just reading TMZ you'd find that Chavez has accomplished a great deal more for the country than it's previous corrupt politicians.
Further more, how dated is it when you people call Penn a "commie"? Not sure if any of you people noticed but under the Bush administration there were a bit of laws that were circumvented to benefit the country and take civil liberties away from the people. Bush went to war and then decided to ignore the people when we started saying, no more war. He ran this country EXACTLY like a COMMUNIST DICTATOR. The only difference being that he didn't kill people locally, he killed them overseas. Innocent mothers, fathers and children suffered and continue to suffer because of him.
You people are all blind sheep who need to wake up and read Noam Chomskly. 51. SO GLAD someone finally called him out on this - especially someone who is MUCH more familiar with Chavez's true politics than Penn was after a brief visit. I think he's an incredible actor, and I consider myself a bit of a lefty too - but his support for Chavez and reasons behind it were so utterly blind to the truth, he just bought into the propaganda without questioning or being critical at all. That is the definition of stupid politics, and is NO DIFFERENT than the sheep who supported GW Bush. Chavez is a killer, and desires a totalitarian government. If Penn loves him so much, why on earth doesn't he just move to the socialist paradise of Venezuela??

53. She is completely correct. Penn is either a fool for his political beliefs or an evil psychotic bent on the destruction of individual liberties. He has said glowing things about both Castro and Chavez while reviling our leaders. Either he does not realize that Castro is a mass murderer who has thrown people in jail for the crime of practicing their religion, or disagreeing with him or he is an evil sadist who would see us all bend to dictatorship. Either he does not realize that Chavez has begun stealing all of Venezuela's private property and using it to increase his own power and wealth or Penn is a mooching sycophant who would impress his will upon the rest of us without care for our personal convictions. I personally believe Sean Penn to be a malicious fool.
