Gloria Estefan: Good Genes or Good Docs?

31. If you want to believe being of a certain ethnic group makes you age slowly then more power to you. It doesn't make it reality but go on believing what you want.

I'm fair-skinned and 44 years old. I don't have a line or wrinkle on my face and I'm often complimented on how young I look. I thank my fair-skinned, blue-eyed mother for this. The woman never wore makeup and had fantastic skin to the very end. It has nothing to do with race or how close to the equator you live. That's just wishful thinking.

33. So many comments within this thread are so incredibly ignorant. The anonymity of the internet allows people to post their true feelings; this is sometimes simply disgusting. Examples:

1. To say that all Latinos age more gracefully (and "that's just how it is") as stated by the first person is simply stupid. First of all, there is no such a thing as a "latino" race. That is dumb and uneducated. Latinos come in all colors and from various genetic backgrounds. Gloria happens to have some middle eastern blood in her; she is caucasian nonetheless. Part of a Latino ethnicity (culture), white by genotype.

2. To send all Latinos back to Cuba as the supposedly "proud to be American" states is just sad and racist. This man or woman has some bitter feelings about a group of people that they don't even know much about (in their world people from Argentina, Cuba, Colombia, Honduras, etc. are part of some "pan-Latino" racial/ethnic group). To say that Latinos ruined So.Fla is stupid, stupid, stupid. Racist and stupid. Move back to (or stay in) your cracker world then; no one would want you here.

3. To state that all Latinos have 4 kids by the age of 21 (comment #21) is another disgraceful statement by another ignorant, uneducated, uninformed, racist white individual (no one from any minority would make such a broad statement). The average household in Miami has less than 2 children; check your numbers you jerk. You probably believe also that we only speak Spanish, eat nothing but tacos, and spend all of our lives watching telenovelas.

We're all people; regardless of phenotype. The question was whether the boring Ms. Estefan looks good at 51 thanks to good genes (regardless of ethnic background). My answer on that; she looks good; she probably has had some minor work (so what !?). DISGUSTING.

35. Same black lace dress in 1992 and 2009?...Mmmm interesting. Anyway, Gloria and Emilio Estefan look amazing in their 50's because they lead a decent life, do not do drugs or alcohol and have a clean concience, so they can sleep well at night. That is the receipt for youth.

36. Are you kidding?! Of course she has had work done. It's very good work and she looks amazing!!! But you can tell her eyebrows are higher and her upper lip has been filled. Again she looks amazing for her age but she has had work done gracefully!!

42. I am 42 and I could pass for 34. I saw Gloria Estefan live-in-concert at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim (the Honda Center) in Anaheim,CA. on Sunday,August 15th,2004. I love Gloria Estefan. I really really do care about Gloria Estefan. I really really am concerned about Gloria Estefan. I a am true fan of Gloria Estefan. I also am a huge fan of Gloria Estefan. I have most Gloria Estefan's albums on CD's and pre-recorded-audio-cassette-tapes, I have most of Gloria Estefan's video tapes. I have most Gloria Estefan DVD's maxi cassette singles,cassette singles,cd singles, 5 of Gloria Estefan's 12" singles.I also have a few centerfolds,2 personalized autographed photographs,lots of pictures of Gloria Estefan. I have 1 book about Gloria Estefan. To see Gloria Estefan totally in the nude on purpose is my all-time #1 favorite way to see Gloria Estefan. Yes Gloria Estefan is gorgoeous,beautiful,lovely,attractive,hot,nice looking great looking foxy and sexy for being 51. And one day Gloria Estefan and I will meet each other on purpose.

43. She looks amazing... all the time.
I think she has good genes, but most important, she led a very healthy life, no drugs, no alcohol, no excess.
That, and hard work at the gym could have played a very important part for looking so good.
