Don Pleads No Contest to Conducting Pain Train

3/19/2009 8:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Don CornellusDon Cornelius just pled no contest to one count "corporal injury resulting in traumatic condition of a spouse" for the beatdown of his estranged wife Victoria back in October.

The 72-year-old former "Soul Train" host was not present yesterday in L.A. County Superior Court in Van Nuys, where a judge put Don on 36 months probation and ordered him to pay over $1,000 in fines.

Also required:

-- 300 hours of community service
-- He cannot own, use or possess any deadly weapons
-- He cannot use or threaten violence to any person, especially Victoria
-- He must complete a 52 week domestic violence treatment program
-- He must stay 100 yards from the Mulholland estate where the attack took place

A protective order is also in place -- and the four other misdemeanors he was originally charged with were dropped due to the plea agreement.

None of you know the extent to the story of why Don Cornelius committed suicide or had a physical altercation towards his wife...it could possibly be alleged. Mind your own business and for the person (#10 the real deal) who asks when will african americans take a stand on domestic abuse...when will white americans stop abducting and molesting children...take a stand on that.
