Piven Plays the Obama Card

No one believed him before, so now Jeremy Piven is dragging Barack Obama into his war over the "mercury poisoning" excuse he used to get out of a Broadway play a few months ago.

With today's announcement that there will be an arbitration hearing over the matter in June, Piven's peeps just released a statement saying:

"Mr. Piven is looking forward to testifying in Arbitration along with his doctors so that the truth comes out about the very serious health risks caused by Mercury exposure, which the Obama administration has recently described as the world's gravest chemical problem."

Well, if Obama thinks it's a problem -- people have no choice but to believe him now, right?

It's not that I don't believe someone COULD get sick from mercury poisoning. But, wasn't he out and about in LA right after he quit the show? I'm sorry, but if he's not sick enough to go home and recover then he should have stuck with the play.

I have no idea whether or not Mr. Piven had mercury-poisoning or not, but I am puzzled by the people who seem to be so certain he's lying. What proof is there? I think he should at least be given the benefit of the doubt. The reaction of some people has been bizarre.

Why do polls when your readers have IQ's lower than the date? Mercury poisoning is a serious problem and clearly most of the readers here cannot spell let alone converse or make judgements about health issues that affect the world today.

Hey Christy, it's funny you'd insult people when your first sentence MAKES NO SENSE!! Two prepositional phrases with no verb attached to anchor them in any way? I mean, it LITERALLY makes no sense. I have a PhD. in English and I'd say your English IQ is fairly low. . . Fool.

Hey "Dr. English". Read Christy's sentence again, slowly. It's not as bad as you think. Pay close attention to the second word, "do" which she uses as a verb, like "do" in "why do anything?". She asks, "Why do [perform, execute, engage in] polls when..."

Here's an alternative version which should make the meaning clear, even to you: "Why does TMZ bother to poll their readers opinions, given that they know most of those readers are idiots?"
