Celebrity Auctions
Elvis Presley Flips the Dead Bird for 20 Grand

It's just a little piece of stationary on which Elvis Presley sloppily wrote a poem about the unnecessary slaughter of a cute little birdie -- and it just sold for a whopping $20,035.20 at an auction.

If you think that's a lot, the jumpsuit he wore at Madison Square Garden went for $212,588.40 at the same gottahaverockandroll.com auction.

The King stay the King ...

18. So E the P had a sense of humor, albeit a dark sense of humor this time. Big deal. I say stuff like that in jest all the time. It's like saying you "hate" something, like wilted lettuce. You don't really hate it, but you get your point across.

24.
Post #1 has it right. He just jotted down a variation on an oldie but goodie gallows humour joke some of heard in elementary school and now someone has paid money for it. He could have just as well written down "Mary Had a Little Lamb." (Paul McCartney recorded and sold THAT one as a prank, heh, heh.)

25. Im so sick of hearing he stole black music . What a crock. If anything he opened the door for many black artists to be heard on white radio. He loved to sing R&B. Black artists should thank God there was an Elvis Presley that brought their music to the forefront. James Brown had often said this.

28. Elvis didn't steal any music from anyone you moron. do you know what interpertation is. Since when is music assigned to one race. Get your head out of your ass and read some history and you will know what he did. Ignorance is what is hurting this country and you are one ignortant person. He was poor, grew up surrounded by other poor people, poverty has no color. He went to church, hund out w/ black and white friends and went to Beale street and listened to the music he liked, then he sang it the way he felt it. That's talent. Elvis was the best,
