Keira Knightley Gets Beat Up ... So You Won't

Keira Knightley filmed an incredibly graphic and hard-hitting anti-domestic violence commercial -- and, WARNING, it's really hard to watch.

The UK spot for Women's Aid charity is shocking, violent and, for some people, all too real -- with Knightley repeatedly getting kicked in the gut after her jealous "boyfriend" accuses her of cheating.

Hopefully, the performance will move the right people.

16. As a woman who has dealt with all forms of domestic violence...this hits home for me. It's not a matter of whether or not it will happen to most women...it is when. I want to say that even though it is up to the woman to leave, she needs support from her friends and family. That is why this is such a powerful video for me. It is asking people to take a stand. I wish more people would do that, instead of turning their head pretending not to see what is right in front of them. I applaud Ms. Knightley for taking on this very controversial subject, it is something that has been largely ignored and swept under the rug for years.

18. Too many girls are raised with low self esteem. We grow up to be women that don't realize that we are the precious children of God. Even if you are abused as a child, don't allow it to ruin your life. No one has a right to abuse you. Good for her to do this public service. It should be part of the school curriculum.

21. You guys act like chris beat the crap out of rihanna. I know woman who has been beat, like some of my family members. It’s up to the woman if she wants to leave or not. It took my aunt years to leave her abusive husband, but in the end she did. And now she is remarried to someone and she is unhappy because he is set in his ways and don't want to do anything with her. Plus what 19 year old think likes a 30 year old? We all did stupid stuff in our younger years, but it is a shame that it took someone high profile to give the amount of attention to abused women. You, the media, mean to tell me that if you is a nobody and you are suffering, that I won't receive help unless I'm rich and famous? Parents should be the children role models, not celebrities. When you tell your child you should act like them, you are not a good parent.

Also people learn and let live. Remember, when you point at someone, you have three fingers and a thumb pointing back at you. No one, I mean no one is perfect. Some women want to hit a man like they are a man themselves and expect the man not to defend himself, if you are able to fight him, expect the same treatment. Some of us women want to cry bloody Mary, but if a man don’t hit back and call the cops, he is a wimp and I think that it is a wrong double standard. If man were to report as much abuse by women, there wouldn't be as much coverage on abuse, because both parties would think first when you are angry. When you are angry you do things out of the ordinary.

24. It's too bad that this commercial was even thought of being important to do.

All I know is, any dude, if he's pissed at a woman, who can't tell her exactly what he's thinking or feeling without resorting to beating her down is a pussy. Only losers smack a woman around; nothing good will ever come from it. That includes dudes who are with the wrong woman who's emotionally abusive (those chicks are out there). If she's that bad, DUMP THE BITCH & move on. No need to have to resort to violence (even if she may deserve it). Violence doesn't solve anything, and solving the issue should be the only thing that you[re trying to accomplish.

I'll get off my soap box now...

27. Why are people harping on Rihanna. Rihanna's matter is not even a domestic violence matter at this point. There are women out there who are not aggressors like Rihanna and are being controlled, brainwashed and intimidated by their husbands and boyfriends if they breath too hard, disagree with them, wear the "wrong" outfit or attempt to look at another man. According to reports, Rihanna never experienced that so I wish people could stop making light of the probelm of DV by saying that Rihanna is the poster child for the problem. Thats an insult to the real victims.

29. Keira is an arrogant elitist bitch who thinks she can talk down to the public.

And she can't even carry a movie on her own.

30. you people are unrealistic. it doesnt matter how much you speak up about it and say its wrong, it will never go away. women will always get beat up. you women should learn how to defend yoursef, so you wont be easy targets. also, rihanna hit chris brown first and you dont say anything about that. what, you think its ok for a girl to hit a man, but a man cant hit a girl? all i know is, if anyone puts their hand on me and i feel threatened, im not gonna hesitate to beat their ass whether its a girl or guy. no one has the right to put their hands on me.
