136. well, Madonna can sponser her now and still ensure that she has a good life. Is everyone saying that now that she can't bring the photo op home that it is over for little Mercy. Is Madonna that cold that if she can't bring home she abandons them till she finds a country that will hand over a child aka a bookend for the kids she has now. If Madonna truly loves this kid and this was the one then she will ensure this child will have a life like no others by supporting her from overseas...Madonna doesn't have to bring them home to take care of them..

139. The judges ruling was not personnel. There are laws she must abide by and that is what the judge did. These laws are in place to protect the children. The average person isn't aware of what can happen to abandoned children. Women have been forced to carry pregnancies to supply the demand for adoptable babies.. Many more children have been sold into the sex slave industry. There are many horrible people wanting to adopt these children that do not have the child's best interest at heart. Certainly the judge doesn't fear any of these things from Madonna, but Madonna must follow the residency laws also. You would be surprised at the number of couples that do go through the process so they can become parents. The cost of living is extremly low in most of these countries so it usually is not a financial hardship for Americans, but the time issue is the huge hurdle. Many couples establish residency and take turns living in the country until the requirements are fulfilled. Most countries now have some type of residency law in place to protect these vulnerable children. The judge ruled correctly by not circumventing the law for a celebrity.

141. post 138 it was a joke but read on because I wrote that Madonna can still give this kid a marvelous life if Madonna is so in love with this child. Are you saying now that Madonna doesn't have another little black baby to parade around that Madonna is done with this kid..Madonna can do what Oprah did, build a school, provide food, shelther and clothing and help a whole group of people rather than just one or two if she is so interested in this african culture. I would feel better if Madonna did go to the ghettos or poor sections of part of the US and found a child there. That would make more sense if there is any sense at all that an aging rock star wants to keep having other people;s babies at 50..this woman has some issues and I think it is about getting old, looking old and trying to act young..look at her trying to always hook up to all the young hot pop stars right now...she is disgusting..but hey, 5 more years and she is going to look sad up on stage. She can't hold it toghether like the Rolling Stones can..because she already looks there age and sadly she is trying to act like she is peers with Justin, Britney, Lady Gaga etc..move Madonna and yeah, find a baby here becaue we all know your copying a Angelina who does what she does because she has a genuine love and interest..you don't.

146. So sick of the question: why not adopt from the US! Do Americans actually believe that starving in a third world country like Malawi with no clean water to drink, rampant aids, adn famine EQUAL to being poor in the US where you have welfare, medicaid etc? Americans need to wake up. Adopting overseas in Africa is responding to a state of emergency. How many American kids do you know have to walk miles to get clean water? THAT is why adopting in Africa is a pressing issue - these kids are dying like flies. And so this Judge - what is her plan for Mercy now? Is she going to let the little girl rot in the orphanage? What a joke! This is cruel towards the littkle girl - clearly her best interest was not considered. Her life expectancy has been severly reduced just by that decision. She will be lucky if she lives past 15 without contracting AIDS. Sad. Very sad.

While you’re sitting here in front of your computer screen, warm and snug, millions of children around the world are left homeless, cold, and without families. To laugh and taint Madonna (regardless of your preference for her) is missing the BIG picture...the person who loses at the end is this poor child. GROW A HEART AND A BRAIN!!!
