Lets Get This Party Started
Madonna Denied -- Buy Your Babies Elsewhere!!

MadonnaMadonna could open the floodgates to a giant child trafficking problem -- at least according to the judge who denied her newest adoption bid.

Madge's bid to increase her brood with another Malawan baby -- 3-year-old Mercy James -- was nixed by the judge.

Madonna plans to appeal the decision -- but there's also eight little babies in La Habra just waiting for you...

46. I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT MADONNA AND THAT BONGO-LIPPED BIMBO ANGELINA AND ESPECIALLY THAT OCTO-BEOTCH. THESE BEOTCHES ALWAYS HAVE TO PUT ON A BIG CIRCUS SHOW FOR EVERYTHING!!!

47. Am I missing something? What ever happened to "Buy American". How many orphans do we have here in the US that need the same love and attention? The difference is you don't get world wide recognition and pats on the back for that. I am in the enterainment business and I can assure you that someone told her & the Pitt's that this was good for the image. If they were that concered about about undeprivelaged children you don't need to look any further than your back door. Glad she got turned down and in public...bet the bitch drives a foriegn car too!

49. R U KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!! THE JUDGE IS TOTALLY WRONG HERE AND SO ARE ALL OF U HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT I READ SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS AND ONE OF THEM IS RIGHT: THERE ARE MANY CHILDREN IN THE US FOR ADOPTION!!!! I STILL THINK THE JUDGE WAS BEING UNFAIR WITH MADGE BUT MAYBE IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!! THE LITTLE GIRL ALREADY HAS A GRANDMA AND THE GRANDMA DOES NOT WANT MADGE TO TAKE HER AWAY FROM HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FAMILY IS MUCH BETTER THAN GOING HOME WITH STRANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

50. Madonna is too old to be adopting a young child, especially now that she is divorced. I agree with the judge.

51. You're telling me this child is better off in an orphanage than with Madonna? Yeah right. Do what's best for the child and keep personal feelings for Madonna out of it. P.S. I'm not a Madonna fan.,

53. So long as this baby had a grandparent that was ready and willing to support it, Madonna was clearly ethically wrong to attempt this.

54. Does this now mean that she will back out of building the school she promised for the children there?

It wouldn't surprise me at all.

55. Just wondering... some comments mention her doing things for publicity sake which makes me wonder: if someone doesn't care, why would they sink hundred of thousands of dollars into something "just for publicity?" Surely, spending so much money means she cares on some level. And when you do something on such a HUGE level, people are going to notice and talk about it!

After all, those of us who aren't millionaires but make some sort of donations (be it $5 or $100) chose to do so for something we believe in, right? I personally don't always give my change to every bucket holder at the lights, but if I see the firefighters raising for MDA, that's where my change goes... or the Knights of Columbus raising for St Jude's. Other people donate to the church groups or police officers. My kids are in the car to see me do the kind deeds, so am I also guilty of doing it for publicity in the eyes of my kids?

I guess I'm just trying to say it means something on some level to the person doing the donating, no matter who you are.

That all being said, I barely listen to Madonna's music and agree it would be more of her nannies than herself a lot of times, probably... she could still offer some child a much better life than his/her current orphan situation. If she was denied for not being a fit person based on the orphanages criterion, then that's that. Unfortunately that happens to people all over the US and overseas. If she was denied for theoretical thinking of causing a "child trafficking" problem, that's someone else's issue to figure out, not her fault! If she's not doing anything illegal, then where's the problem? If her money could help expedite the process to ge the little girl out of an impoversihed country, that's great for the little girl.

As for US vs overseas... like someone else mentioned before, it can be incredibly difficult here in the US AND believe me, the orphans in the US already have a better lifestyle ten-fold over those in most other countries!

Wow, this one seemed to strike a chord with me... and I don;t even like Madonna that much... thanks for letting me rant!

56. why doesn't she get a kid from the states, I think she thinks she will get more attention if she gets an out of country kid.

57. I believe Madonna has good intentions for adopting another child into her family. However, with all of the money and resources she could extend to support a child in need, there may be other circumstances working against her. Perhaps the judge based his decision on other factors - like her busy lifestyle, her reputation for flaunting her lovers, not being able to provide a joint-parent/family influence at the present, etc.

And while my heart goes out to these children, and the efforts made to adopt them, I have to wonder... Why are we - common folks and celebrities alike - reaching out so hard to other countries when the United States has plenty of children that need a loving family and home?

58. I can't believe anyone would rather that poor child should stay where she is. Shame on all.

59. carrieann you are a moron. The kid doesn't have a mother or father and IS IN A ORPHANAGE. The grandmother can't take care of her and does not visit the child. The family wants money. David's father couldn't take care of him and STILL COULDN'T TO THIS DAY. What do you think the point of an orphanage is anyways. Learn to read you hysterical pig.
