Todd Marinovich -- Sacked By the Law Again

Todd MarinovichAt this point, Todd Marinovich has more mug shots than football cards.

TMZ has learned the former USC superstar quarterback turned NFL bust was arrested for the billionth time in Newport Beach today -- this time for skipping out on drug court.

Marinovich was scheduled to face charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a hypodermic needle, and resisting arrest.

The 39-year-old was arrested outside of his mother's home and hauled off to jail -- where he's currently being held with no bail.

6. Boy those drugs are taking their toll. In his playing days he looked young for his age. But if you told me the guy in the mug shot was 49 instead of 39 I'd have easily believed it!

7. This guy lost millions of dollars because his need for drugs were stronger than his need to play football. I watched him in collage and I thoght he was going to fit in just right in the NFL. Drugs kill not only people, but their careers also. I don't feel sorry for him because he should have known better, but once you start with an addiction, it is hard to break away. Oh well, at least he isn't as dumb as hilarious comment guy.

8. I know he was a quarteback in his younger days, but the real question is when he goes to jail, is he a tight end, or a wide receiver?

12. It's no excuse for his behavior - he's an adult - but this guy had a psycho for a father. From the day he was born, his father was training him to be an NFL quarterback. His father turned his childhood into an eighteen year training camp. He even had to bring his own fat-free cookies to birthday parties when he was growing up. This is just another example of how really bad parents can help mess up a kid. You need a license to cut hair for a living but any a-hole can raise a kid.

13. I went to high school with Todd and he was an incredible person and athelete. The real tradegy here is what drugs have done to him and his life. There is no doubt he could have had it all. Maybe his Dad was to controlling, maybe he pushed him to hard but at the end of the day his father only wanted the best for him and this is just another life lost to drugs. Drugs = tradgedy!

14. Fat free cookies to birthday parties? Man, that's tuff. I agree with Orphan. Parenting a kid in that manner is the same thing parents do when they enter their little kids into beauty contests. They say this what the kids want, but it's just another way they control the kids destiny. Sports, religion, sexual preferences are all determined by the parent without them asking the kids, "What do YOU want to be when you grow up?" That, in his instance, can lead some people to drugs.

Nice comments, Orphan.

15. To # 5 Thom:

TMZ's first post that you refer to was in August 2007, when Marinovich was indeed 38 yrs old. His birthday is 7/4/1969, making him 38 in August 2007. He is now 39 & will turn 40 on July 4th of this year. So maybe, YOU should do your research before posting....
