Canada to Billy Bob: No Thank You

Billy Bob ThortonBilly Bob Thornton should have known better -- being impolite doesn't fly for Canadians.

The actor "musician" and his band, The Boxmasters, have canceled their last two Canadian tour dates with Willie Nelson following Billy Bob's now-infamous radio rant of d-bag awesomeness, according to an announcement on Willie's website.

But Billy Bob didn't just end his hissy fit in the studio. Apparently he went on stage later that night, in front of an all-Canadian audience, and called his interviewer an "asshole"... for, you know, asking Billy Bob questions.

The canceled shows might stem from the fact that Billy Bob said Canadian audiences were boring ... or because actors are usually terrible at playing music.

He's just lucky he was in Canada and not some scarier, less-Canadian country.

19. Here's to hoping that the people in his upcoming Stamford CT show also boo him offstage. The guy is a tool. I'm glad to see the concert goers in Canada didn't tolerate his behavior. If the band was smart - they'd kick BB out - they got what they needed from him - publicity. I can't imagine they were in awe of his spectacular drumming ability.

20. FIRST OF ALL, WHEN YOU WATCH THE PLAYBACK OF HIS RADIO INTERVIEW YOU CAN SEE HIS OTHER BANDMEMBERS KNOW WHAT AN ASSHOLE THEY ARE DEALING WITH.......... JUST LOOK AT THEIR FACES. THEY KNOW HE'S AN ASSHOLE. HE LOOKS RIDICULOUS IN THAT BLACK SUIT HE WEARS ON STAGE TOO. EVERY ACTOR WANTS TO BE A SINGER, EVERY SINGER WANTS TO BE AN ACTOR. AN OLD SAYING, BUT HOW VERY TRUE. MAYBE HE SHOULD TOUR WITH KEVIN COSTNER'S BAND FOR WITH BRUCE WILLIS. THEY THINK THEY ARE MUSICIANS TOO!

21. Man.... He REALLY douched out, didn't he??!! I love how he didn't want the interviewer to mention any of his movie career but when it happened he acted like the typical spoiled movie prima-donna! It's kind of funny. BTW, did he think he was making the interviewer look stupid with those, "I don't get it, etc..."? That pseudo arrogant move just made him look like he's mentally impaired. Oh, and for god's sake.... lose that wig, thing.

26. Come on...it's Canada...that big chunk of dirt to the north, with their fake dollars and funny accents...have we even let them become a real country yet? - I'll have to investigate...in the meantime, I'll senf them a U.S. flag, so they can feel important.

27. Considering every crappy movie he's made since Sling Blade, I wouldn't consider him an Actor either, so I kind of get his point ;) Actually, Dwight Yoakam was better than BB in that movie - and he can sing circles around Billy-Bones on top of it. BB is completely over-rated. The disrespect he showed during the interview was unacceptable, whether you're a person of media-interest or not. If you don't want to talk about what you've done, don't publicly do it. He totally missed the opportunity to project himself as an Artist, which the interviewer was kindly (albeit undeservingly) extending. Alas, he isn't one, so he totally missed that point. Why would anyone want to pay anything, time or money, to indulge an egomaniac? Good riddance, eh! (But Willie can stay!)

28. Step one for an actor wishing to be taken seriously as a musician: do not alienate an entire COUNTRY.
Step two: return to acting

29. It's true that we Canadians do not tolerate rudeness, it's very important in our society to be polite and kind, I'm not quite sure how to even take someone like Billy Bob...anyone who looks at this entire interview can see that the interviewer is polite and professional, something that Billy Bob Thornton should strive to be, unfortunately, he chose to go the other way....there was no need for him to do what he did....now he can't even be honest about why they cancelled the remaining canadian shows...have some dignity and speak the truth.....don't run away Billy....we Canadians don't bite..(unless you want us too).
