19. She's setting a wonderful example for her child. Would you mock her for wearing a helmut while riding a bike? Softball injuries can be extremely serious. Some leagues, and even some states - madate the wearing of masks for pitcher, 1st & 3rd in youth sports. Leave Reese alone - she's a good mom.

20. Ok, so really all of your comments are sillly and Susan is correct. Softball can be and is a very dangerous sport for infielders. My daughter plays competitive softball where pitches are nearly 60 mph and the hits come off the bat at 100 mph. I have seen a girl (pitcher) get hit in the face and she had four, that is right FOUR, sugeries to rebuild her sinus passages adn her nose. She can never play softball again. My daughter wheres a full helmet when she catches, a fielders mask when she is in the inflield and has a mask attatched to her helmet for hitting.

Reese should not be mocked in any way. She is setting a good example for her daughter and my daughter that safety is first. Softball is way ahead of the curve compared to baseball because softball requires more safety devices. Lets keep our girls safe and thanks Reese for being a good role model.

21. It's not play with her kids. There is no playing with Reese. She is all business.

This is her getting ready for a new movie she is doing with director James Brooks, where she plays a professional softball player. She even mentioned it on the Today's when she was promoting Monster vs. Aliens.

"It's a movie with Jim Brooks and Paul Rudd and Bill Murray. I don't know what the title is. I really have been making a movie with Jim Brooks for about two years now and one day we'll start filming and it will be fantastic!

"We haven't shot the movie yet. I play a professional softball player."

Accidents can happen anywhere...this is just ridiculous and a bit extreme....if youre one of the stupid people that believe in god, then you probably believe that if god's plan is for your life to come crashing to an end by a softball to the head, then that little piece of plastic headgear probably isnt going to save you.....I dont have a clue as to the age of her daughter, but I am guessing she's a toddler, which makes it even more extreme...which essetially means Reese has no softball playing skills or her daughter can hit a softball better than any other child that ever lived....dont worry "little girl Witherspoon"...your parents are rich and can afford to send you to a therapist after they F you up....
