31. I AGREE WITH BOTH LOTTA PUSSIE AND PANDORA CROTCH. JAKE AND REESE ARE A PERFECT PAIR, SINCE THEY'RE EACH FULFILLING THE OTHER'S NEED, NEITHER IS MUCH OF AN ACTOR BUT IS GREAT AT BEING A PUBLICITY WHORE, AND THE TWO OF THEM BORE SHE HELL OUT OF ME.

33. C'mon people - it's an amusing pic, but she IS out there playing with her daughter, and her face is worth a lot of money, so what's wrong with protecting it? Some may think she's being over-protective, but so what? If she wasn't a hands-on parent, or did play without a mask & suffered a facial injury, there'd be people cracking wise about that - so please, be cool, and save the arguments for something worth arguing about.

34. Hello? Safety?! Natasha Richardson, who was also a mom and should have worn a helmet? ...

This is a no-brainer. Reese is doing the right thing. I can't believe this is even a topic of conversation, and how quickly everyone forgets.

37. Good Job Reese! I think she is setting a really good example for her daughter. My daughter plays softball and has since she was 4. She is now 13 and pitches at approx 60 miles per hour. Face masks are good and becoming required in many leagues. And for the previous poster that said that a 9-10 year old can't hit a ball that fast...think again. They can nail that ball. Again! Good Job Reese!

39. Softball Mom you are an idiot ... If Reece wanted to set a good example she should take off the friggin sun glasses . If a ball did in fact hit the mask with any force ( which I really doubt from a 9 years old girl) the resulting impact on her designer shades shades would shred her eyebrows and could possibly cause a serious eye injury. Get a grip mama

42. I don't understand the statement that her face is how she makes her living. Isn't her acting ability what makes her living? She is in fact quite homely and that is without a doubt the biggest chin strap I have ever seen. Hollywood takes themselves way to seriously.. It's almost comical if it wasn't so ridiculous. Why not wear full body armour?

43. Well, some girls in softball do wear a mask like that. Most of the time it is because they have been hit in the face before from a softball line-drive. My high school was going to buy me one after my own catcher mixed up the trick plays and instead of throwing it to the short-stop, she threw it straight at my face when I was not looking... Luckily I was wearing a mouth piece and walked away with only a hairline fracture on my jaw... however, if you you're not a good catcher, its best if you do wear a mask.

44. Good for her--one never knows where those balls and bats are gonna fly Besides, some are playin' for fun and some are out there to crush the competition, no matter what. Best to be protected from the sports kooks, no matter their age.

45. I am a baseball Mom and I have seen some serious accidents from balls hitting the face. I say she is being smart. Even Pro Bull Riders wearing face gear. Where does everyone get off making fun of her?
Even bike riders wear helmets. So what if she is playing safe?
