When you visit a prisoner, they allow you to bring money in for food and snacks not otherwise
available to the prisoners (and the visitor; they stay for hours and have to eat).

C'Mon are you guys serious??? When visiting you are allowed to bring $20.00 with you for vending machines in a plastic bag! Wow sometimes these stories are so ignorant!

It is not our place to judge. Our justice system will handle that. For those of you that have obviously never visited anyone in a Federal Institution you don't get it! That bag is all you are allowed to take in, a clear bag, ID and car keys. The clear bag can have no more than $20 in quarters and ones (some institutions allow $5's. Visitation is 8 hours and the only food available is from expensive vending machines. $3 for a chicken sandwich with Mayo. You are not allowed to leave and come back for meals and cannot take in any food or beverages. I cannot believe that everyone assumed that he is giving her money at visitation. Shame on the reporter for giving everyone that impression. This kind of reporting just fuels the story and hatered. If they can't get simple information correct, which is posted on the BoP website under visitation regulations, what else in all these stories is embellished just to enrage us and keep us reading?

Ruth should be in jail too ... They both are crooks.
