Right or wrong, Politically correct or incorrect. It doesn't matter. Everyone is entitled to believe in what they choose. We are not to judge, any TRUE Christian knows that. I can say this... she's got WAY more balls to stand up for her beliefs than most of you who have hid or are still hiding in that closet.

Why does the media always cover the most ridiculous stories and drag it out for weeks? She stated her opinion, it's called FREEDOM OF SPEECH, just because she didn't answer the question others may have wanted her to doesn't mean she's a bad person. The more Miss California turns this into an issue, the more the relevance is lost. She came in second. Going into the final phase of the competition, she was scored about second or third. She was asked a difficult question. She became frazzled by the enormity of it. She stammered. In the context of the question, she called California "my country". She then referred to "same-sex marriage" and "opposite marriage". Miss NC gave a safe response that allowed her to retain her lead. The other contestants did not give a "Wow' answer, and they failed to move up. Contest over.

Now, it's a controversy so that she can stay in the news and become a spokesmodel for the religious right. Please, defending her faith didn't cause her to lose. If she truly was a faith-based contestant, then she would realize that God wanted her to be runnerup. Now, her press agent and Michael Phelps' press agent are putting their heads together to keep them in the limelight and repair their reputations. I'm tired of being manipulated. Girl, you came in second because you placed second. If you wanted to win, you should have done more bodywork to score higher in the bathing suit competition and picked a dress that scored you a 9.3 or better. You didn't win; get over it.

Well, I guess she has a right to her own opinion, but I do think she's still a bigot. Saying she's "biblically" correct is just so ignorant too. It's too bad she wasn't asked this question earlier on in the pageant process, I don't think that sort of attitude reflects the image that California wants to project. By the way, since "marriage" is defined by the legal system in our country and not by Christianity (we are supposed to have freedom of religion, right?) then I think there is no place to ban marriage based on relgious beliefs. If we follow Christian theocracy as a basis for our laws, why don't we make divorce illegal ?... the bible doesn't allow for that either. Either you are a Christian or you're not, you can't pick and choose your beliefs from the Bible... that's called hypocrisy.

It sounds to me like she holds the same view as the majority of californians who voted to ban gay marriage via state constitutional amendment. What a bunch of drama queens who feel they need to villify this beautiful, talented, intelligent woman for her personal opinion, and who's going after that queen perez for stoking that fire anyway, it's not as if she volunteered her opinion there.

Whether or not her answer was politcally correct is a legitimate question, and perhaps Perez shouldn't have retorded in the manner that he did. But whether or not something is BIBLICALLY correct is irrelevant. It is disgusting to me that something like religion is still a political issue today, epsecially when used to negate the rights of other people. Religion hinders our society and any moral development that should (or, arguably, should have already) be taking place.
God doesn't exist. Everything we utilize today has seemingly been developed...technology, style, politics, everything. So then why does the entire country revolve itself around a method of explaining things that dates back to the birth of man? God didn't write your bible, your Torah, your Quran, whatever. Man did. In attempts to control and gain, essentially, political power. Evolve people. You can't base your beliefs, and how you TREAT OTHER PEOPLE, based on what King James and his allies kept, altered. and omitted from the bible.
