Here are my thought on your question & comment:

If She was sitting next to him (passenger side), that leaves just about 1ft of distance between his face and her left arm assuming they were driving in anything but a Humvee...that distance isn't enough to throw a solid punch unless you have really short arms or are very strong where you could snap a jab off like a boxer. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that she doesn't fit either of those examples.

The likely scenario is that he turned to face her when they were arguing and she punched him with her right fist as that side of her body & the car would've allowed for enough power & room for her to take a good swing at him from the passenger side. If she had been driving and swung hard enough to hit him like that in the left eye, it's probable that they would've lost control of the vehicle if it was in motion or she wouldn't have the distance to achieve a good punch given the distance to his face from her right hand as mentioned above.

I think that's probably the only way it could've been done with enough force to create that black eye.

17. I still don't think he was justified!! All he should've done is held her back from hitting him again, just restrained him and then called the cops to have her arrested. It's OBVIOUS that the guy can always do more damage than the girl and this guy looks pretty big!! The fact of the matter is that nobody should be hitting nobody, but if he had hit her first I really doubt she could've restrained him, so she probably would've had to hit him back to try and stop him or run away. But him hitting her back didn't help anything and now they're both in trouble!!

20. I agree with Jen, the hit is to the wrong eye. If your a guy, and you need to hit a girl after she hits you to defend yourself. Then your a pussy. I have had "ex girl friends" that have hit, punched, kicked and bit me, after they did that I just lauged at them, cause the damage they did or pain they inflicted was a joke . I never felt the need to "defend" myself by busting them in the head. What I did do was dump their ass and that is why they are 'ex's
I used to bartend in a few nigh clubs back in Florida, at it always seemed the guys hitting the chicks were little bitches themselves.

29. If one individual hits another individual, it gives cause to the latter to defend themselves.

Saying you should never hit a woman is a collectivist (i.e. communistic) statement. Women are human beings, like men. We are individuals and we have natural rights. If we chose to violate someone else's natural rights, we need to be prepared to have our own rights violated.

That being said, I'd never hit a girl but the dumb idiots who say "under no circumstances should you hit a woman". That's intellectual nonesense.

Hey chicks, don't wanna be hit? THEN DON'T HIT US. It's kind of simple. Unless you want to go back to your inferior house cleaning ways, then I'll defend men hitting such an inferior being. But if you want to be equal, be ready to be equal.

I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT THAT IS IS NOT OKAY TO HIT ANYONE, DID'NT JESUS SAY TURN THE OTHER CHEEK....HE SHOULD HAVE PULLED OVER AND MADE A CITIZENS ARREST AND STOOD THERE UNTIL THE COPS CAME..THAT I WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE, BUT SOMETHING TELLS ME DRUGS AND ALCOHOL WERE INVOLVED WITH THIS ONE AND THE DUDE DID'NT THINK AND HIT A WOMAN......NEVER NEEDED TO BACKHAND HER.
