Ichiro Suzuki -- Sued for Balking Construction Bill

Ichiro SuzukiSeattle Mariners all-star Ichiro Suzuki is being sued by a construction company that claims he struck out swinging when it came time to pay his bill.

According to a lawsuit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Ichiro hired American Technologies to perform construction and remediation services at his home in Los Angeles. American claims they lived up to their end of the deal, but Ichiro never forked over the $131,774.25 he was billed.

The company is suing for what they're owed, plus attorneys' fees, costs, and interests.

A call to the Mariners was not immediately returned.

Ichiro should just fire his business manager. He will pay up. I'm sure the contractor tacked on some extras.

Ichiro was MVP of the American League in his first year in MLB. Ichiro is a career 330 hitter, a perennial 200 hit, 100 runs scored, Golden Glove outfielder. In 2004, he set the MLB record for hits in a single season with 262 hits.

This guy if anything is underrated. A 5 tool player, Ichiro demonstrated his extra reserve of power, In batting practice this season Ichiro hit 7 out of 8 for homeruns and hit a grand slam during the game.

Ichiro merits respect. He's one of the best.

Ichiro is the Man! Hes' one of the best ball players of all time and he has integrity. This is either a misunderstanding or an overeaction. It will be worked out. Blown out of proportion and not worthy to be on TMZ. Must be dead over there huh guys?

Oh by the way, I'm fully aware that those aforementioned people are also responsible for paying other people's salaries.....but that does not negate the fact that someone is worth 78 million dollars in 6 years time, or 10 million dollars for 3 or 4 months worth of work. Than throw in your endorsement money they make, yada yada yada blah blah blah.

ichiro's a cancer for Mariners. this year, he didn't walk until today when he was intentionally walked. The guy missed first 8 games and his consecutive hit record is in the risk, so he doesn't walk. This guy is the most selfish athlete on the planet. He costs Mariners roughly about 10 games in each of last disastrous 5 years.

This just seems like people are trying to take advantage of Ichiro, no reason to take something like this to court. There's no reason he wouldn't pay if the construction company was honest, and they are most likely just trying to get a piece of Ichiro's fortune. If the company is legit then Ichiro's got some pretty bad managers around him,

ichiro hit OPS 943 in japan which is quite respectable though.
it dropped sharply in US to 806
but he took advantage of slow turf and hit so many infield singles to his own surprise.
without them his average is 270 and OPS would be 730 mark.
he would be earning $30,000 as coaching a japanese team of little league by now
