5/1/2009 11:20 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Danny Gans, Steve WynnSteve Wynn just gave us the following statement on the passing of his good friend Danny Gans:

"Elaine and I and all of us in the company are devastated at the loss of our brilliant, talented and loving friend.... one of the most unique human beings and entertainers in the world has been taken from us in an unexpected moment. A profoundly tragic event that leaves us all sad and speechless. The loss of Danny, to his wife Julie, his children Amy, Andrew and Emily, is at this moment impossible to comprehend. We will all try to go on with our lives without our dear friend. At this moment it seems almost impossible."

My wife & I had the pleasure of seeing Danny gans at the Mirage this past October. For years every time I went to Vegas i would say to myself, I want to see Danny Gans..& fortunately we finally did. Aside from the great entertaining show he put on, there was something so refreshing about this man that you walked out of the show feeling completely content inside. We realized later on when talking about him that it was his genuine kindness & humble personality. You could feel his love & appreciation for life. It was ever so evident when he spoke to the audience about his show, his life, his family & his band. I am the same age as Danny, 52, and from his quick passing can see more clearly the fragility of life. I feel sadness for his family. My prayers are with his children & wife.
