For those interested, Shakira is the only child of Nidya del Carmen Ripoll Torrado, a Colombian of Italian and Spanish ancestry, and William Mebarak Chadid who is of Lebanese descent. Shakira was born and raised in Columbia. She speaks fluent Spanish, English, Portuguese, Italian and speaks a little Arabic. Google can be your friend...
