18. Most likey, she was paid to do her part, not given a royalty percentage. Contract will probably show that and this will go away quickly. One lawsuit down.

It's not dumb at all on her part to wait this long.
Royalties are based on revenues generated by your product per market. We dont know how exactly Triller did in other markets. How is she supposed to know or monitor that herself? Was it profitable in China, Fiji, New Zealand...etc Isnt that the RIAA's job? She was in the video but not on the actual song...Plus, when it comes to music videos the formula isnt that straight forward. unlike films, no one pays to see music videos. So Album sale revenues are arbitrarily linked to videos.

So if she was promised a flat fee (buyout) for the first 10 or 15 years. Then that contract expired long ago and she's now owed whatever money Thriller generated in sales or promo time for Jackson.
This is just like child ctors of teh 50's and 60's claiming unpaid revenues. Nothing wrong or dumb about that.

20. Okay, first of all, no one is ever a Former Playmate. Once a Playmate, always a Playmate. Second, Ola Ray was one beautiful woman! I remember her issue, and I might even have it in storage somewhere. Hope it all works out for her. Michael Jackson lost my respect a long, long time ago.

22. why should she get paid royalties? I don't understand. Royalties are only paid to an ARTIST whose music is STILL being played on the radio. This chick only starred on Jacko's video. She did NOT sing on the song, she did not play any instriment on it. Unless she signed a contract that especifically said she will get paid a dollar amound everytime the VIDEO is played, then she shouldn't be getting none of the sweet money. But this wouldn't make sense, since music videos are not MOVIES. Music videos usually hire someone pretty and pay a one time sum. Me thinks she is traying to play it off like a movie deal, where an actual actor could get royalties even if the movie bombed, but music videos are on another level, because once the song dissappears off the charts, it's bye bye to the video.

23. Micheal is also being sued by the producer of the video John Landis. Michael sold the rights to thriller for a play without consulting Landis who owns 50%.

24. This young lady was a video girl, she don't get a cut of the action. She get's paid a ONE time fee and that's it. Just ask yourself, how many video girls get a piece of the action? NONE. Aside from the fact that nobody is going to wait 25 years before they realized that they are not being paid for whatever.

This is probably a last ditch effort to get some cash to support her CRACK habit. You'll know times are hard!

Sure, I bet they'll figure it out and pad the amount by a cool few million $$$ extra just because... Funny how all these people SUE about Thriller only after Michael Jackson announces a 50-date concert series and sells out. Now they all want a piece of the pie. I think a lot of these royalty issues should be taken up with SONY the record label, not Michael Jackson personally.
