Victoria Principal -- My Maid From Hell

Victoria Principal has just filed a lawsuit, admitting she did pull a gun on her former maid, but only after the maid threatened her, injured her dog and went on a wild tear.

The maid, Maribel Banegas, sued Principal yesterday, over the whole gun thing. But in Principal's lawsuit, the actress says on December 26, 2008, the maid was told she was fired and flew into a rage and "repeatedly slammed the back door with such force that...the door frame itself was damaged."

The suit claims the maid struck and injured another maid in the house, then grabbed Victoria's small dog and left the house.

An hour later, Victoria called the maid on the cell phone, demanding the return of the dog. A short time later, the large maid (6 feet tall, 160ish) returned "dragging Principal's dog into the kitchen on such a taunt [sic] leash that the dog's front paws were lifted off the ground and so roughly that the dog was coughing and wheezing and its eyes bulging."

The suit claims the maid was screaming, "Give me money."

The suit claims Victoria was so terrified, she went upstairs to her bedroom and retrieved a handgun, came down and told the maid to leave. The maid allegedly started pounding the kitchen counter and began shouting. She walked toward Victoria, who then "cocked the handgun and told Banegas to leave." That did the trick. Kinda. The maid ran in the guest house, locked herself in and Sheriff's deputies had to come and remove her.

The next day, Victoria found her 16 pound dog "writhing in pain." The vet said the dog was suffering from "stress-induced gastritis."

Victoria is suing for unspecified damages.

UPDATE:
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. tells us the maid contacted them on January 9, 2009, claiming Principal had assaulted her. The matter was investigated, sent to the L.A. County D.A., and the case was rejected based on "insufficient evidence."

22. "injured her dog and went on a wild ""tear."""

I can't get past the writing of TMZ folks. I mean really, are we talking about a wayward teardrop, or a crazy lady on a terror.
I've seen the TV version a time or two, so it makes sense. My vote is this was written, edited, and proofed by the mini Fabio guy.
Shame on you Harvey, hire some folks with a teensy bit of education and brains.

25. Wow, you'd have to be pretty stupid to believe what Victoria said. I mean, come on, we're really expected to believe the maid went that crazy but never had any problems before? And the maid takes the dog and Victoria doesn't call the police but she's so damn tough she has no problem pulling a gun on a large, supposedly crazy woman who has a good chance of wrestling it away from her? At least the maid's story makes some kind of sense. Sorry, Victoria, even Hollywood would say no to such an unbelievable story. You should have consulted better writers.

26. Is it right to pull a gun to an arm person????. This is always the attitude of rich people to reverse the story by using there money and influence to less fortunate people to protect their social status. I know this story is true. Chgeck the people who agree with here, they too has a lot of money to down this poor lady. She admitted that she pointed a gun to the maid and that is a treat to an armed person and it is a felon.

27. It doesn't matter if the house cost a zillion dollars, door frames will damage if enough force is exerted by some nut-case giving the door the old heave ho. I applaud Victoria's tenacious spirit in standing up to that ogre of a house maid. Obviously the house maid was trying to get something for nothing with her false testimony. Victoria fired her and the maid wasn't going to let it ride out smoothly. Kudos again for victorious Victoria! I hope Victoria's poor dog has recovered well from such a traumatic incident.

28. The spanish maid sounds like she had a sense of entitlement bc of the position she had, working for a "celebrity". She flipped liked any crazy spanish woman would. It's a small percentage of women like her that keep that stigma alive. I am hispanic & unfortunately I see & hear about it all the time when their boyfriends or husbands try to leave them.

29. Who knows. Neither illegals looking for a lawsuit lottery, nor celebrities are sympathetic.

However, calling the police very often worsens the situation, e.g. they are nasty, don't come, have attitude. Although, cops in L.A. la-la-love celebrities.

This is the kind of crap that goes on in a world where public officials and supposed role models demonstrate that responsible rational behavior is punished, and criminal predatory behavior is rewarded. If people in authoritative positions (cops, lawyers, politicians, doctors) behaved with decency and accountability, if there were actual regulation and not just the appearance of it, it would trickle down and people would behave more civilly. The world is unraveling and getting worse and worse in terms of how people cheat, lie, use, and abuse each other on a daily basis. Even people who are supposedly "pillars of the community" who you'd never suspect.
