Victoria Principal -- My Maid From Hell

Victoria Principal has just filed a lawsuit, admitting she did pull a gun on her former maid, but only after the maid threatened her, injured her dog and went on a wild tear.

The maid, Maribel Banegas, sued Principal yesterday, over the whole gun thing. But in Principal's lawsuit, the actress says on December 26, 2008, the maid was told she was fired and flew into a rage and "repeatedly slammed the back door with such force that...the door frame itself was damaged."

The suit claims the maid struck and injured another maid in the house, then grabbed Victoria's small dog and left the house.

An hour later, Victoria called the maid on the cell phone, demanding the return of the dog. A short time later, the large maid (6 feet tall, 160ish) returned "dragging Principal's dog into the kitchen on such a taunt [sic] leash that the dog's front paws were lifted off the ground and so roughly that the dog was coughing and wheezing and its eyes bulging."

The suit claims the maid was screaming, "Give me money."

The suit claims Victoria was so terrified, she went upstairs to her bedroom and retrieved a handgun, came down and told the maid to leave. The maid allegedly started pounding the kitchen counter and began shouting. She walked toward Victoria, who then "cocked the handgun and told Banegas to leave." That did the trick. Kinda. The maid ran in the guest house, locked herself in and Sheriff's deputies had to come and remove her.

The next day, Victoria found her 16 pound dog "writhing in pain." The vet said the dog was suffering from "stress-induced gastritis."

Victoria is suing for unspecified damages.

UPDATE:
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. tells us the maid contacted them on January 9, 2009, claiming Principal had assaulted her. The matter was investigated, sent to the L.A. County D.A., and the case was rejected based on "insufficient evidence."

34. So calling the police--the option most sane people would choose--never occurred to her? Sounds bogus on both sides. Time to grow up ladies.

35. A few years ago, Victoria divorced her husband, a plastic surgeon, because he supposedly beat her up. Is there a connection about her disposition- perhaps the maid is the victum. Of course celebrities get a free pass, but just suppose.....

37. That's why celebrities get away with murder !!! Regardless of what they do, there's always people on their side. Victoria's story is so made up, If she fired her made in December, why would she keep her if she was so bad. Didn't you guys notice the maid had called in with a complaint in January?? That's a plus for the Maid's case, People that substitute kids for pets are just not mentally healthy !!!! I'm sure she'll be taking the dog to a Dog Psychologist for treatment, he's traumatized,

38. Are you kidding me? If anything in this crazy old birds story sounds convincing to you, then you are clearly as mentally disturbed as she is. STRESS-induced gastritis? It. Is. An. Animal. They defecate where they stand and then lick themselves in the very same region mere minutes later. They do NOT have stress induced problems, mostly on account of the fact that they are not sentient! To try to imply in a court of law that someone is legally liable for upsetting a dog is truly indicative of how truly insane this country is. If I try to kill the rats infesting my house, am I putting myself in a legally actionable position? Maybe not now, but give it a couple of years. Did I say insane? Because RACIST would just as accurate based on the number of respondees that seem inclined to take the white womans side on principal. I'll play devils advocate, lets say the maid is guilty of these laughable allegations (the fact that the entire story sounds word for word like what a rich crazy old bird with a staggeringly undeserved sense of self-entitlement would say, not to mention the scenario sounds as implausable and melodramatic as a plot from Dallas, sort of hurts her credibility), is that, legally, sufficient grounds to threaten someones life at gunpoint? In a word: No. Forget the money, lock this nutty bitch up before she really does kill someone.

40. a dog is just an animal who stinks and poops and they stink like all animals. people who try to treat animals like humans are sick. I am not saying to treat them bad ( only if they try to harm you) but otherwise leave them outside where they belong and feed them scraps

41. To me Victoria Principal always seemed a little weird: like a control freak or an extreme perfectionist. I think the truth here may lie somewhere in between both stories. However, it is highly unlikely Principal can get away with "pointing a gun, and cocking the trigger" at someone. Unless HER life was being threatened, there is no room for that in the law.

The other maid was there the article says, so that would be one witness. However, if the maid is still in Victoria's employ, it may tilt the balance of the maid's testimony toward her continuing paycheck.

Victoria should remember OJ is in jail today because he branished a gun to get his memorabelia back from thieves who tried to keep and sell it.

43. When a person is summerly fired he or she is entitled to be paid for prior services and their time. There is nothing in the report about the maid being illegal. If she has come to this country without papers, remember when Italian were called WOPS. Which mean With Out Papers. Look to your grandparents were they LEGAL?

44. i hope ms. principal has charges pressed against her. if you have an issue with anyone, you call the police. the anti-gun lobbies should use her in a commercial for their cause. priceless excuse!

45. The puppy has stress induced gastritis? What about the puppy's neck? So if the maid dragged the pooch while it was on the leash, wouldn't it have a neck injury. I don't know, this all sounds so very fishy to me.
