Victoria Principal -- My Maid From Hell

Victoria Principal has just filed a lawsuit, admitting she did pull a gun on her former maid, but only after the maid threatened her, injured her dog and went on a wild tear.

The maid, Maribel Banegas, sued Principal yesterday, over the whole gun thing. But in Principal's lawsuit, the actress says on December 26, 2008, the maid was told she was fired and flew into a rage and "repeatedly slammed the back door with such force that...the door frame itself was damaged."

The suit claims the maid struck and injured another maid in the house, then grabbed Victoria's small dog and left the house.

An hour later, Victoria called the maid on the cell phone, demanding the return of the dog. A short time later, the large maid (6 feet tall, 160ish) returned "dragging Principal's dog into the kitchen on such a taunt [sic] leash that the dog's front paws were lifted off the ground and so roughly that the dog was coughing and wheezing and its eyes bulging."

The suit claims the maid was screaming, "Give me money."

The suit claims Victoria was so terrified, she went upstairs to her bedroom and retrieved a handgun, came down and told the maid to leave. The maid allegedly started pounding the kitchen counter and began shouting. She walked toward Victoria, who then "cocked the handgun and told Banegas to leave." That did the trick. Kinda. The maid ran in the guest house, locked herself in and Sheriff's deputies had to come and remove her.

The next day, Victoria found her 16 pound dog "writhing in pain." The vet said the dog was suffering from "stress-induced gastritis."

Victoria is suing for unspecified damages.

UPDATE:
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. tells us the maid contacted them on January 9, 2009, claiming Principal had assaulted her. The matter was investigated, sent to the L.A. County D.A., and the case was rejected based on "insufficient evidence."

46. When I was laid up after an injury I had a maid service come to do my home. I was terrorized from the minute she came into the house. She had an army of cleaners inlcluding several guys all over the place, I was really intimated. She insulted me, refused to do the cleaning the way I asked and yelled horrendous things at her staff. Thank God my husband came home and got her out, but we found out later that she damamged some furniture and has since refused to respond to our calls. I learned my lesson, be careful who you let in your home.

Not sure about Victoria's story but obviously the maid was lying throught her teeth. The incident happened on December 26th but she didn't call the police until January 9th?? Riiight. Glad to see the cops saw through her too.

I'm guessing there's some truth to Victoria's story but maybe exaggerated? She should've called the cops right away instead of pulling a gun but maye she felt she was in immediate danger and the cops wouldn't get there in time.

I would rather pay through the nose for decent staff (read thoroughly checked out) than pay cheap for crazies.

49. I know someone that worked with Victoria Principal and how she treats the maids is horrible; she verbally abuses them; shes tells them that they are stupid and always thought they stole money from her. This woman goes through so many maids; they dont usually last more than 3 mths. She is just a crazy lady.

52. I know someone that worked for Victoria years ago and claims that she is crazy. I have a hard time believing Victoria's side of the story. The people that I know say that she is a total control freak and can crawl under your skin.I think Victoria should be put in a sanatarium for mental evaluation....

53. If these Hollywood elitists would learn to take care of themselves they wouldn't have to depend on others to survive.

54. I feel this story is closer to the truth. Nobody pulls a gun unless they are being threatened. If somebody mishandled my dog I may do them bodily harm.

57. I believe the story. It's one thing raging at another person, but to take it out on and abusing an innocent animal...I would've blown out her knees.

58. The servant was ordered to leave Ms. Victoria's private premises. Servant's pay check could have reached her by FedEx within three days. She is lucky that she was arguing with Victoria Principle and not Phil Spector!

59. The servant was ordered to leave the private premises of Ms. Victoria Principal. Ms. Principal is not required to spell it out nor give a reason. The pay check could have been delivered to the servant within three days along with a proof of receipt that the servant received the monies earned. For failing to promptly leave, that makes the servant a trespasser and disturbing the peace. Servant is lucky she was arguing with Ms. Victoria Principal and not Phil Spector!

Any diverNUTska that would attack my dog would be arrested. My sympathy is with the dog. I hope that doggie is feeling better.

60. "No excuse for her to pull a gun?" "Her door frame can take it!"

What is wrong with you people? All it takes is for psycho woman to pick up an ashtray or a vase, throw it at her head and she could be dead.

What is wrong with you people?
What is wrong with you people?
What is wrong with you people?

You have a right to defend yourself! This was the perfect example of a firearm shown, but not actually used to protect property and life.
