Brooke Shields -- Kiefer's No Hero

Brooke Shields and Kiefer SutherlandBrooke Shields is squaring off against Kiefer Sutherland ... and it's getting ugly fast.

Shields' reps tell TMZ the man Kiefer headbutted Monday night in no way did anything to Brooke that would have warranted the alleged attack.

As we reported, witnesses say Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough knocked Brooke to the ground at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Gala in NYC Monday night. But Brooke's rep says "nothing happened to her," adding "Jack did nothing inappropriate. It's not clear what caused Kiefer to do what he did."

Witnesses say Kiefer went up to Jack and demanded he apologize to Brooke. Jack allegedly pushed Kiefer and Kiefer then headbutted Jack.

But Brooke's reps tell us Jack, who designs clothes for Brooke, "did absolutely nothing to her."

Launch PhotosBut here's where the plot thickens. We asked the rep, "Did Jack touch her?" Their response -- "We don't know."

We're told Brooke will be interviewed by cops Wednesday.

34. Keifer, did the right thing. There used to be a time when you stood up for a woman & it was honorable, but no more. Next time just let soomeone knock her on her ass & you step on her to get by. Plus this guy put his hands on Keifer first, so it sounds like this guy thought he was the tuff guy. Brooke probably wants to screw him.

37. I live in Michigan, and Canada is right across the river from us. I love Canada, its much cleaner than our state, and you can fell safe walking anywhere. Unless you have been to Canada on a regular basis- shut the hell up.

41. What doesn't make sense to me is; TMZ and other photographers are always in the celebs faces so why isn't there a video or pictures of all of the commotion? Something is extremely odd about this whole thing.

43. You don't put your hands on a cowboy, if you do you are asking for it. Brook isn't worth standing up for, she loves her little insignificant "dress designer". It is because of her consistent bad choices that her career has been lack luster, she never made one decent film. She hangs out with stupid little people who just use her. She would not know or understand how to react to a great guy like Kiefer who is loyal and generous to his friends and family. He is very talented no matter what you haters say. I for one am glad to know that not all of Hollyweird is filled with psycho, androgynous guys who think it's ok to push or hit on their women. Where I come from guys who hurt women don't fair very well in the staying healthy department. That's how it should be. Kiefer you are my hero!

45. What a mess. It sounds like witnesses are backing up Kiefer's interpretation, although he does look pretty wasted in the photos.

I've lost all respect for Brooke saying nothing happened, when witnesses -- PLURAL as per reports -- are saying the opposite of what Brooke's saying. What is she afraid of? She won't get anymore designer discounts? She's becoming as desperate and needy as Madonna. And Brooke's quickly becoming another Madame with plastered on makeup.
