Kiefer Will Be Charged with Crime

Kiefer SutherlandWe've confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will be charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with the headbutting incident earlier this week.

Kiefer headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough at an event after-party on Monday -- an attack Jack says was completely unprovoked. We're told Kiefer says he did it after Jack pushed Brooke Shields.

The New York Daily News broke the story. Kiefer will show up at the NYPD and get a desk appearance ticket and his arraignment date will be set.

A rep from the L.A. City Attorney's office tells TMZ they will contact the NYPD and the D.A. to get details and then decide if they will try and revoke Kiefer's probation. He's currently on probation for a DUI.

33. Kiefer's not a homophobe and, Rita, you didn't do all your homework on Stand By Me. He stayed in character off-set to help the kids and him both with their roles. Rob Reiner, who directed, talked about what a sweet guy he is. He IS an alcoholic, but he's also a sweet guy who once in a great while loses it when he's drunk. That doesn't excuse it but most of the time he's a happy, horny drunk. I hope he gets help

Guys, he was just acting like his character Jack Bauer would. Honoring women and trying to do good! He does NOT deserve to go to jail. If i was Keifer I would not plead guilty. Make the state pay for a TRIAL! Then they'll drop the charges! Or at least he'll get a juror who's a 24 fan!

I will always stand behind him! Perhaps he should go to rehab though....jail pfft! No WAY!!

39. Ridiculous! The victim has a scratch on his nose! It doesn't warrant revoking probation for a DUI! People should TRY to work things out before they get the law involved.
