Kiefer Sutherland -- I Stood Up for Brooke Shields

Kiefer SutherlandLaw enforcement sources tell us Kiefer Sutherland headbutted a man in New York City Monday night, causing lacerations on the man's nose -- all while defending the honor of one Brooke Shields ... so he says.

It happened at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Gala Monday night. We're told witnesses say the alleged victim -- Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough -- allegedly knocked Brooke Shields over and Kiefer saw it happen. The witnesses say Kiefer went over to the man and told him to apologize to her. At that point they say McCollough pushed Kiefer and the actor responded with a headbutt.

A police report was taken and the incident is under investigation.

Complicating it for Kiefer -- he's on probation in L.A. for a DUI, and one of the terms is that he obey all laws. No word on whether L.A. prosecutors will pursue the matter.

The uncontroverted facts are that:
1) Kiefer suggested the designer at least apologize to the lady for causing her to fall ass over tea kettle
2) the designer did not say " good idea, there, thank you, good sir," but the fop, instead,in reply, pushed Kiefer like so
3) Kiefer head butted the designer in the proboscis in justifiable rejoinder
4) what the designer did or didn't do to Brooke is of no weight here, no matter what Brooke thinks; here what matters most is the designer assaulted Kiefer first and thereby impliedly consented to battery in the traditional sense
5) LA probation authorities justifiably should take no action regarding Kiefer's actions
6) I'm right and you know it
7) but have you been Rick-Rolled?

32. "knocked brooke over" ? as in, accident ? or attack ? bad reporting, TMZ. Keifer might have gone ballistic if he thought a woman had been attacked..so that much is understandable, { if she was attacked }. Wasn't it OBVIOUS to people if it was some attack or some bizarre accident ?

37. This over-paid "jerk Bauer" is just trying to get publicity for his fascist TV show that is really slipping in the ratings. I say throw the Alchy in prison to set an example. I wonder if he was drunk, violating probation??

43. The guy puhands on him FIRST! If anyone should be charged it should be him, not Keifer. Face it though in this day & time you can't stand up for anybody, thats old school. They just spit in your face for it. NY has the right idea, just walk on by or step over the body.
