White House Dinner -- Hail to the Chef!

5/6/2009 1:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

You've heard the state of journalism is code red -- newspapers and magazines folding, TV stations going broke...well there's something in the media that's recession proof -- the menu for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.

We got hold of it and it's gonna be a pretty damn fancy shindig at the Hilton Washington this Saturday.

First course: Sopresso, Prosciutto, Reggiano & Brie Plate, Spiced Olives, Wild Watercress Salad, Warm Crostini Drizzled with Balsamic Dressing.

Entree: Porcini Dusted Petite Filet, Paired with Sun Dried Tomato Seared Escolar with Olive Tapenade, Mascarpone Polenta, Asparagus, Cipollini, Green and Yellow Squash, Porcini Mushroom Demi.

No dessert this year -- they're donating the money to a local charity.

Yes Prez Transcarency- where are the $338,000.00 "photo" cost of your ego plane ride that freightened everyone in New York last week. Yes, I'd like to see and know where those photos are, who was on Air Force One during the little publicity stunt, who authroized it and why? Also what about What about The First Mouth in the White House $1800.00 hotel snack in New York. And how much is it costing us tax payers who "Own The White HOuse" to keep your un-elected mother-in-law fed, clothed, transported and her security cost. Prez Barry I hate to say it but you ARE treating our House and the Office like the trailer-trash the Clintons were accused of being.
Yep, we know you are feeling our pain, but you ARE Mister Do As I Say Teleprompter Photo Op Prez. You are as believble as Heidi and SPencer and have less more of an ego than they do. You are sickening and a low life

who has the facts? ME

Are you kidding me?? Neither the taxpayers OR the White House is paying for this dinner. Are you neo cons THAT ignorant? It is being put on AND paid for by the White House Press Correspondants. The dinner has been around forever and every president attended and ate wonderful, expensive food.
You are bitching and whining about something that is in your own little mind - learn the facts before you start complaining.
Slow day to find something to bitch about?? LOL

Economy is in the & they just keep spending. Obama goes & has a hamberger acting like a regular joe (sorry joe the plumber) & get a photo op in, then goes & spends tax payer money on fancy crap. If anybody needs to quit wasting tax payers money it's Obama & his mob.

Looks like a simple, healthy starter except the pig's not kosher. And neither is the prosciutto.

If you would eat out at a real restaurant, not McD's or BK or Carl's Jr. you would know what most of these classic courses are. This dinner is about $75/plate and the White House is NOT hosting it. It is the White House Press corps. Read a REAL news website.

In this economy, they should be ashamed of themselves for putting together such a pricey menu...Just another case of "don't do as I do, do as I say" . It's absolutely appaling!!!

What do you expect, Ole Prez Barry has got to keep his Lap Dog Press Corps well fed now doesn't he if he is to keep the "press under control." The USSR used this same type of tactic at the "Ole Pravda Dinners," so why shouldn't Comrade General Obama not follow his idiols tactics. Got to give it to Ole "Change You Can Believe In" Prez Barry Obama which is short for "(One-Big-Ass-Mistake-America)" he is having the press eat off gold plates why us "poor folks" eat cakes. This type of insenstivity toward the unemployed starving masses was cured in France once also. Let follow the French example with the ruling monarchy shall we

What's so fancy about this?
Because they've got fancy names?
I eat things like this all of the time, and I sure as hell am not rich, I'm just not lazy enough to get a cheeseburger, I like things that actually taste good.

Big effing deal.

Did you actually think that THEY would suffer along with the rest of us. Not on your life. Rules are for others. WE conserve, WE save our money.

There will be no dessert and they will be taking the money saved from that (about $13,000) and the money will be donated to the D.C. non-profit So Others Might Eat.

I'm not an Obama fan, but this is not an extravagent dinner. There is nothing excessive about it. TMZ has dumb text with their dinner news.
