Manny Ramirez to be Suspended 50 Games

Manny RamiezManny Ramirez has tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and will be suspended without pay for 50 games, the LA Times is reporting.

The Los Angeles Dodgers star is the most prolific player to be suspended by MLB since it began testing in 2003.

The paper is reporting Manny will attribute the positive test result to "medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue."

According to the report, Manny stands to lose about $7.7 million.

The Dodgers currently have the best record in baseball.

31. That's a smoke screen by MLB and they know it. He will just appeal to arbitration and some dumb ass arbitrator will find in his favor.

35. Is this really a surprise to anyone. Let's see Manny hits the ball a ton, known to fly into a rage ie Youklis fight and pushing down the Red Sox 64 year old traveling secretary Jack McCormick, always moody and when interviewed on the subject he gave a half-hearted no when asked if he used roids. This is what is wrong with professional sports - if you do the roids you can get a huge contract. There are a lot of guys who just go out and do it - Youklis, Pedroia, Lowell no help needed because they have talent.

Manny sux - well worth the $8 mill that the Sox had to spend to give him to the Dodgers. Good luck with that L.A.

36. It's not as if you scored all the runs and single handedly won all the games they've won this season but it has been huge confidence boost. He's past drug tests for the last 5 years so it seems odd for him to not pass this one.

Red sox fans make me sick remember when he was on the team that helped you win a series since forever? you loved him then but now you're acting as if you knew this would happen?

38. Barry Bonds is still available. He'll sign for the 8 million the Dodgers save by not paying Manny for 50 games. And he will not embarrasse anybody with secret drug tests since that cat was out of the bag a long time agooooooo. I like home runs and do not care how you hit them because you can bring any steroid user from Gold's Gym, and they will not have a clue how to hit a 100 mph fastball out of the park. It takes special skills with or without injections. Go Dodgers!

44. Sucks when you learn that your favorite player or players have juiced. Nonetheless, if you know they are genuinely good, too, then by all means continue to support them. Taking steroids doesn't make them the worst persons in the world.
