16. The Santa Barbara fires are a real horrible problem and any help would be great but your statement makes it seem that you don't think either of them have done any type of good works? I C? u want to accept an idea of who they are from the likes of TMZ, comedians etc... and don't look for facts? I have not one thing in common with either of them but I give props where due. I like to think I do my part in this world to help as much as I can, personally--and I can't not hold a candle to either of their charitable works. Get back on your bandwagon and enjoy your view. Everyone in Santa Barbara has my good thoughts and especially my Prayers. Everyone going to help, don't get in Tom's way, he'll bowl you over on his way in to help!

17. All I read about these women is "controversy". Same w/ Perez Hilton & others. What I meant = how nice it would be if they weren't obsessed with the media, & volunteered at a "soup kitchen" or something.

21. This is the problem w/ the GOP and political crap in genera. Palin will support the girl because she is opposed to gay marriage but it doesn't really matter what her stance is on anything else. One issue people. As long as you speak out on one thing (abortion, guns, gays) you o,.k. in their book. It doesn't matter if you are a closet druggie, sleep around on your spouse, whatever. Just come on out and spew your view.

22. I don't know what these right wing idiots are complaining about. Seems every has an opinion on this situation and no government agency has tried to stop them (I hope they've read the constitution and realize that a private organization...like TMZ or the pageant...have the right to censor all they want, just like the Boy Scouts can fire people for being gay). Ms. Prejean made her beliefs known, as she was asked to do, but she did it very inarticulately and only answered half the question. Case closed. Now she's bitter and trying to blame people for her mistakes and the political right is trying to silence anyone's response to her comments or reaction. If anyone's guilty of censorship, it's the Right.

23. Lets all look for MORE than the controversy and the hate! I have been guilty of it too so many times myself. I had to get sick, (one long road, not whining PROUD of where I am today I am doing it!!) be at home with WAY to much TV/Computer time and really take stock of what I was looking at. So, grateful to be back in the real world again but now I am so concisous of the fact that I am in charge of what I listen too and it is my job to look further when I need too. I thought I hated Bill O'Reilly but now I refer to him as 'my boyfriend bill'.... because he does try and get facts and does show 2 sides. and, I know most will say I am bonkers for that statement but I stand by it. I watched the Today show and loved it for YEARS after my own questions on a couple of topic's/slants, I left all of NBC news. I went through Ann & Matt withdrawl, but I as a consumer make a choice to put up with it or not. I don't buy generic toliet paper, by choice, and I won't watch them. I do NOT hate them! I choose not to hear 'their take' anymore. I am not a moron, I want facts and I'll make up my own mind. The end. And, Tom I do agree, that we need to hold people who desire/seek public eye , or public positions up to a high standard if they want our support! I Also hope that those who can do help all they can-especially those telling us to help! But, those 2 ladies have done a lot of charitable work. Their press people need fired, since it IS all we hear about!

I guess she should have said she has the same view as Obummer and it would have been alright. Funny how now one called him on that same statement. 27. I am really failing to understand how a beauty queen's OPINION has become a national debate. I think this is a big push for publicity that began with one Donald Trump. I mean seriously. Does anyone care about her opinion? She has NO influence over anything (except what happens to men when they see her mostly naked pictures.) This girl is young and foolish and I have no idea why we're even talking about her. I disagree with her opinion. Now I'm moving on to important things going on in America - like the recession. (I am not saying the issue is unimportant. I am saying SHE is.)

I'm a Libertarian, and I support gay marriage. Always have.
But pissing on someone's RIGHT to have an opinion (and opinion, btw, that is shared by the MAJORITY of the rest of the country). It's not like Miss California is some circus freak.
Perez Hilton asked that woman a question that had no "right" answer, unless it was the answer that fell into step with a certain agenda. I wish she had "politely declined" to answer a question that was based on personal convictions.
Like I said, I support ALL gay rights ... but I'm TOLERANT of other people's opinions and beliefs and their RIGHT to express said beliefs.
A fifth-generation (Los) Angelino, I moved out of California in April 2008. The "last straw" was seeing a music video shot in the neighborhood in which I lived depicting "musicans" (thug gang members) openly brandishing automatic assault rifles IN A PUBLIC PARK around the corner from where I was living. I was among hundreds of people who contacted local police officals, telling them who these guys were (their full names are readily available on their band web site). Nothing was done. "Well, we looked into it and there's nothing we can do." The attitude of law enforcement SUCKS in that state!
Yet my ex-husband, Mr. Goodie Two Shoes, was coming home from a target range with two .22 caliber rifles and the ammo separate, in the glove box, HE was treated like a criminal and almost had his LEGAL, REGISTERED .22 rifles taken from him. The criminal element apparently is the only population in California allowed to carry firearms.
I moved to another state where my RIGHT to arm myself at home or in public is supported.
Crime here is less than half of what it was where I lived in California.
Teenagers say "yes, maam" here.
And even though I'm surrounded by "wacko right wingers" my opinions in support of gay rights are accepted. I'm allowed to express my views without being called a hatemonger.

30. Soon to be ex Miss CA isn't going to lose her title because of her answer. She's going to lose it because she didn't obey the contract. I'm so sick of hearing about Christians being persecuted. Religion should be private and your beliefs should be just that...your beliefs. Gays marrying has nothing to do with the the destruction of marriage. Grow up and worry about your own life and stop harrassing others who just want the same rights as you do.
