32. I was once a liberal and I realized that if you said anything that didn't go along with the agenda they'd murder your character. I watched blacks vote time after time for liberals and get screwed every single time and not even know it. Keep you in bad schools and bad neighborhoods is as bad as slavery. Don't Jackson and Sharpton that because they need blacks to fail in order to further themselves. Now it the gays turn and they are acting just as bad as nazis during WW2. You will get gay marriage one day and all the other stuff you think you really want, just be careful want demand for, it can come bad to bite you in the a$$. Last thing, remember the people you think were tortured, they kill gays, so you may think you're during wants right for them they won't forget you for it.!!!

45. She was too young and immature and inexperienced to know how to avoid Perez Hilton's "d-mned if you do, d-mned if you don't" question. Honestly, there was no way to answer that question without getting into trouble with some major segment of the population, and it shouldn't have been asked in the first place. (What boggles my mind is that Perez was actually a judge in the first place.... What were they thinking?!?)

Yes, she plays loose with the truth (which is what might really get her into trouble with the pageant folk) and has made a mistake in her later actions, taking up with bad company who will use her and then toss her out when she becomes more of a liability than an asset. Yes, she has trouble with the concept of same-sex relationships (the objection from her and others is not just about some mystical view of "man and a woman" for marriage as engraved in stone, it really does have to do with their discomfort with the whole idea of a "man and a man" or a "woman and a woman" or else they wouldn't care). But blame Perez for the question and its answer, he very deliberately put her in an impossible position. He knew exactly what he was doing.

It does remind us why focusing on state approval of same-sex marriage is a wasted effort - by doing that, the struggle will always be with people who will keep opposing it as a public policy. Even when it's voted in one year, it can be voted out another year. Why make your union dependent on people hostile to your very relationship? A smarter and more productive approach would be to forget about state-approved civil marriage and just focus on private marriage ceremonies (state and church officials are just witnesses, anyway - the marriage is really performed by the two people involved, it's a contract) and enforcement of iron-clad legal partnerships/power of attorney etc. packages that will guarantee all the rights automatic in current male/female marriages. Then most of the opponents will go away, other than the truly fanatic, because it's no longer something they have to make a decision about. Eventually things will settle down and nobody will even understand what all the fuss was about in the year 2009 - but don't hold your breath.
