Gerber's Accusers Refuse to Pull a 'Clooney'

George ClooneyWe've learned the two waitresses who are suing Rande Gerber for sexual harassment refuse to take lie detector tests -- something George Clooney already said he'd do to clear Rande's name.

The waitresses filed the lawsuit back in March, claiming they were fired from one of Gerber's restaurants for not giving in to the sexual advances of Gerber and other managers.

We're told when Rande's attorney, Howard Weitzman, asked why the accusers wouldn't take the test, he was told "they simply won't."

Calls to the waitresses' attorneys have not been returned.

16. Well then if Rande says it is not true, then he should take a test also. Why should they if he does not have to. They could tell if HE is telling the truth or not!

17. So George is offering to take a lie detector test big deal, I doubt he was with Rande the entire time at the club, or did they hold hands in the men’s room.

If George is sure that Rande is innocent then a lie detector would only prove that George believes him to be innocent. It doesn’t prove that the waitresses are lying or that the alleged event didn’t take place. If George had been drinking that night his memory and credibility would be in question in a courtroom. Can anyone imagine George Clooney in a night club not drinking?

Polygraph tests are garbage there is no regulation regarding them or their operators anyone can set themselves up as an expert in the field and they get it seriously wrong, a serial killer sometime ago took one and it was negative all the way because he had convinced himself that it was all bad dreams and he hadn’t killed anyone at all, they eventually convicted him on DNA evidence.

Lets see Rande take the test first, with police polygraph operators.

George is just making a big noise using his personal media exposure to take a swipe at these women. What is he trying to do frighten them away from the courtroom before it comes to trial.

There is already one story out there on Rande and a staff member who had to leave her job after rebuffing his advances which too place in 2000, how many more stories might see the light of day because these two women are willing to stand up for themselves.

18. @ Brattyone: Rande Gerber said that he would take them...

@ Shag: the same thing can be said about people who make false accusations in order to blackmail people.

IMO George and Rande are both grandstanding, as they told the press they are prepared to take the tests why not do it right now, with police polygraph operators and media present to make sure we hear exactly what the results were
