Farrah Fawcett TV Special - Suit Alleges Threats

Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'NealThe man who claims to be responsible for the Farrah Fawcett documentary that will air on NBC tomorrow night is suing Ryan O'Neal and others, claiming he was aced out of the project and O'Neal "physically threatened him."

Craig Nevius claims in his lawsuit he made a deal with Farrah back in 2004 to chronicle her life in a documentary called "Chasing Farrah." That project aired.

Nevius claims he then worked with Fawcett for two years on the current project. But the defendants -- notably Ryan O'Neal and Alana Stewart (Rod's ex) -- "began to take actions to wrongfully interfere with Nevius's contractual relationship with Ms. Fawcett..."

The suit claims in September, 2008, O'Neal contacted Nevius and demanded he relinquish control of the company that was producing the project -- Sweetened By Risk (SBR). The suit claims, "When Nevius respectfully declined, O'Neal physically threatened him." We spoke with Nevius by phone -- he said "Ryan threatened to kill me" during a telephone call.

The suit goes on ... On April 3, 2009, Stewart contacted Nevius and said Farrah "wasn't doing well" and wouldn't officially sign the deal with him -- even though Nevius says she had agreed to it.

The suit claims Farrah's business manager -- defendant Richard Francis -- misrepresented the project with NBC and then "made additional threats of physical violence against Nevius."

Launch photosNevius is suing for a declaration from the court that he has a binding deal to manage the project. He's also suing for damages.

UPDATE 1:34 ET We spoke with Paul Bloch, the rep for Farrah, Ryan and Alana. He told us, "I am shocked by this type of behavior. Here's a woman who everyone knows has been ill and to do something like this is horrific." Bloch adds, "This has been a very difficult time for Ryan O'Neal. When you see something like this you have to question the motives of someone who can be so hurtful during this very sensitive time in a person's life."

106. As a miracle survivor of advanced ovarian cancer 28 yrs ago, I watched this with tremendous respect and gratitude for Farrah's courage and candor in sharing her experience. 1 in 3 people gets cancer. Unless you have personally gone through the brutal suffering of cancer treatment, or stood beside a loved one as they endured it, you cannot comprehend what a cancer patient experiences. This is one of several important messages Farrah's film carries to viewers. Patients use all kinds of coping mechanisms and are given drugs during treatments sometimes just to get through them. And we try to protect those we love from knowing the full extent of our suffering. One of the hardest aspects of being a cancer patient is how alone we feel in our battle, no matter how much love and support we get from others. I felt huge relief that more people than ever before could finally see the naked truth because Farrah courageously showed her chemo nausea, weakness, the horror of the scans and treatments, the experience of touching your hair and having it fall out into your hand. People invariably ask "did your hair fall out?", as if that is their worst nightmare. In fact, that is such a minor thing when you are trying to save your own life! The loss of hair is nothing but visual evidence of the metallic poisons being injected into your veins to KILL your fast growing cells. Chemotherapy is a tearing down, never a building up. To lie there and know that your body is receiving poison is a challenge to anyone trying to practice positive visualization and heal themselves. Then there is radiation - lying on a table in a room alone with a huge radiation machine pointed at your body. The heavy door slowing slides closed automatically when the technicians viewing you from behind a glass barrier window in another room push the first control button on their keyboard. Then the room is filled with a loud hum as the machine builds up power and slowly rotates into position over your body. The experience is not unlike the alien abductee tales some people report. This is just one example of the surreal scenarios that become routine for most cancer patients. The treatments Farrah received in Germany are not "alternative" treatments, they are simply more advanced than American medicine at this time. My chemo was the most brutal and aggressive and it failed to kill the spreading cancer I had. There was no chemo left to give me. Radiation was my last chance and I received it. I also followed Linus Pauling's regimen for fighting cancer and I believe that and my diet and mental exercises, including self-hyposis and visualization, are what saved me against all odds. At that time I was also part of a government sponsored test program and given pharmaceutical grade marijuana to control nausea and stimulate appetite and it made a great positive difference in my being able to eat and letting go of anxiety. I am personally convinced that the focus on poisonous chemo therapies is detrimental to survival. Much more nutritionally and spiritually/mentally must be done by the patient to empower their body, be in optimal condition at the cellular level.

For example, no one questions why the breast cancer campaign focuses on early detection rather than cause. The sooner breast cancer is diagnosed, the longer that patient will be alive to purchase the drugs that bring such tremendous profits to their makers. One example is Astra Zeneca - they started and still control Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They make the organochloride added to agricultural soils to produce larger crops. The young female mexican migrant workers who work in the strawberry fields in Watsonville, California have an unbelievably high incidence of breast cancer before age 25! Astra Zeneca also makes Tamoxifen, which is a drug given to breast cancer patients. Astra Zeneca is just one of many companies who profit from cancer, who practice "vertical monopoly". These are just a few of the issues that need to be revealed in the story of cancer. Farrah Fawcett helped by showing viewers that cancer is not sentimental movie material - it is ugly and torturous and agonizing and heartrending for the patient and the family. It is time to take control from the pharm companies and seek remedies regardless of profit/loss. And it is time for people to behave with courage and stop the stupid platitudes and denials when they talk to their friends and families who are fighting cancer. People need to step up and be strong, so patients don't have to waste their energy on protecting everyone from their harsh reality. Thank you, Farrah. You will be remembered for your courage and honesty and sacrifice. That is a wonderful legacy.

107. I watched the documentary last night. It was heart wretching. NOT a time to take pot shots at her children or her love, Ryan. What I saw between the two was real love, real grief and real happiness. Who are we to judge? None of us are perfect, that's for sure. Those on here making negative comments are just as bad as the asshole trying to sue for rights to the documentary. First of all "Chasing Farrah" is what he was contracting to do, this documentary was not part of that deal.

Personally I think she's one of the bravest people I've seen. I suspect it will be a short time before she passes.

108. Knowing Farrah and what she stands for, and knowing Ryan and what a self absorbed bully he is, it is of no surprise to me how her story turned out. Greg nevius... i'm sorry people are choosing to believe Ryan. I know you were trying to do the right thing. And you did right in speaking up. Ryan hasn't been by her side through all of this. After she returned from Germany in 2007 she didnt see him for months. How dare he?? and the way he is exposing Red. Farah would never allow that. Never. She is such a kind person, and i'm also very surprised to see that Ryan has bullied her too.
