The whole break-in thing at Lindsay Lohan's house was real -- because there's surveillance video of some dude jimmying the back door.
There have been reports it was all a mistake, but that's not the case. Someone did actually try to get in -- but ran off when the alarm sounded.
Sources say there's also an accomplice involved -- we're told the dude who tried to break in had a getaway driver.
Cops are investigating.

20. Giggles at "that's intrusive" I always thought most attempted break ins, robberies and the like were always intrusive (and than some). Well, I'm not just ready to swallow *hush Artie* this tale. How many days has ticked by since LL hasn't been in the news? Wasn't it about time for something to "happen" for her to get back into the news. Remember what I've said in the past people, celebs need publicity, attention, etc. all that rolled in together -- be it GOOD or BAD publicity, it does not matter because it all equates to people talking about you, your actions, photographers wanting your picture, wanting to catch you buying the latest coolest thing, or catch you doing the most god awful thing (BUSTED) -- etc. Get what I'm trying to convey here? Sure those guys very well could have tried to break in on their own accord. Or they could have just as easily been hired to act as though there were going to break in and were made aware of the alarm system, the trip code, etc., and knew exactly when to high tail it out of there (all for some publicity for Lindsay -- and to garner sympathy for her since she's been gathering so much ill will of late).

22. Hey TMZ. I know this isn't exactly JOURNALISM, but the use of "Dude" to refer to a male really takes away from the reporting... I just thought I'd throw that out there. Anyway, I seriously feel for Lindsay Lohan, the fact that she is still actively pursuing work, and showing entrepreneurial vigor is seriously impressive, if not admirable. This is a girl that had a difficult upbringing, child-stardom, is constantly being scrutinized by the media (TMZ most definitely included) in her adulthood, and can't have a personal moment to save her life and yet somehow she's still persevering. My real question is though... for a woman who has paparazzi camping outside of her house virtually 24/7, how on earth did someone get that close?
