3. Michael Phelps has made some stupid choices in his life, both before and after the Olympics. But I know police officers who regularly use marijuana, and I believe it should be legalized.

As for Michael, he is young and I sure made some REALLY stupid mistakes at his age. He is still the best swimmer on earth as of now and I wish him the best.

He needs to avoid bad people and the media.

Michael Phelps did a great job, placing second for someone competing in the event for the first time.... the backstroke is one of the new events he chose to compete in....he lost to the world record holder in the event Aaron Peirsol. No big deal! MP will train for this new event and start winning it eventually...

13. You gotta love the Communists at TMZ. They're more than happy to circle the wagons for a stripper/prostitute dating pot head, but God forbid a girl giving an honest answer to a bs, politically loaded/driven question and they treat her like OJ Simpson. Nevermind the obvious fact that the large majority of Americans agree with her. Including the President, Sec. of State and the VERY blue state of California.

15. He's human so he made a mistake... BIG DEAL!!! He is back and better than ever!! Not only did he not swim the 100 back in the Olympics, but he also came in second place by less than a half second to world record holder who has not lost the race since 2002. If Phelps would have had 10 more yards he would have won the race, cause he kicked it in the end but just didn't kick it soon enough!
