33. I mean, come on...they could have it worse. They could be living in those slums, without all that money, too...

37. Nice to see the producers of slumdog shared the wealth fairly. Imagine that, an Indian film about rich and powerful Indians taking advantage of the very poor and desperate Indians. Where did they ever come up with such a creative storyline.

Can you imagine pitching the script:

This a love story about slumdogs being exploited and having to over come insurmountable odds to be together, we have great talent in bollywood so we don't even need to pay to bring in big names.

Great idea, but lets just get real slum dogs to play the kids, their parents will sign them over for food, speaking of food lets go out to dinner.

What do you expect movie stars, producers or anyone, to do?
These children were paid, according to their contract... and then some.

No one could foresee the amount of money this movie was going to make.

If the company I work for earns a whopping multi-million over projected earnings, I certainly cannot go to my supervisor and ask for an increase in pay, or a new house, or a paid education for my children. I get paid according to my contract... PERIOD.

These children were paid according to their contract... PERIOD.

That's how the rich gets richer, and why the workers keep working.

Your, script pitching scenerio, is probably more accurate than we know.

40. We all know that India is the armpit of the world. Why do you keep showing pictures of the squalid conditions that this child lives in. She isn't the only one, you know. At least she got to ride the wave of the Slumdog Millionaire train, while it lasted. That's a lot more than the other kids in India will ever know. As for the SM movie. It was one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. I don't get what all the hype was for this movie.

41. good job TMZ...sincerely, its a good thing that the media isn't letting the giant f you that these kids got go, i hope their lives are followed every second until someone does right by them

42. I think the "big screen tv" comment is being kind of sarcastic but not funny at all, meaning the Slumdog people probably gave Rubina the Flat TV as a gift when in fact, she would be better off with something else other than a flat tv hung on her wall. Meaning it is a worthless gift is how I see it, it's like if you give a bum a bunch of raw chicken and meat. Where the hell is gonna cook it? I do believe however they were probably not paid what they would have gotten, or what any other american child star gets paid here.

43. All you people saying "Oh they signed a contract. They got what was owed" are HEARTLESS. So what if it was in the contract that doesn't make it right, it doesn't make it fair. It may be LEGAL but its not MORAL. Its nice that they have set money aside for them for when they turn 18, but what if they don't make it to 18, Mumbai is not Happytown, America after all. The Director, Actors, and others involved in this movie spent months with these children while they were filming... How can they just walk away from them like that? How can they just leave them in these conditions...conditions they witnessed for themselves while filming. Thats just not something a decent human being would do. Everyday 25,000 children die from hunger and preventable diseases, with attitudes like some of the ones displayed on this sight its not hard to see why

44. Let’s disparage the film directors, for not taking thorough action to improve the living conditions of the young actors…

Seriously guys, we need to draw a line as to how much western societies are morally obligated to further assist people in underprivileged circumstances.
