Actress Claims Sexual Battery Against ICM

MIss British ColumbiaThe former Miss British Columbia 2004 claims in a lawsuit one of the biggest talent agencies in the world promised her stardom but instead -- she says she became the victim of a sexual assault.

Claire Robinson claims in her suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, International Creative Management (ICM) "hip-pocketed" her -- that's a term used when a senior agent takes an inexperienced actress without credits under his wing. The suit claims the agency "sexually exploited the 'hip-pocketed' actresses" they brought in.

Robinson claims in her lawsuit she was "sexually battered in an ICM limousine en route to a Paramount Studio event." The suit goes on ..."Robinson was later raped by another co-conspirator." Robinson claims the alleged rapist is a talent manager who conspired with ICM Executive VP Jack Gilardi.

Robinson claims Gilardi accepted bribes -- in the form of cash and gold watches -- in return for "hip pocketing" an actress who his friends wanted to "sexually exploit."

Robinson says the "hip-pocketing" practice is conducted "under the nose of Jeffrey Berg, the Chairman of ICM, in full view of its employees," and is an "inside joke" or "dirty secret," known by all within the entertainment industry.

Robinson's attorney Perry Wander tells TMZ "This case was filed as a class action because Ms. Robinson has since learned that this scheme has ensnared other actresses who were 'hip-pocketed' by ICM and sexually exploited."

She's suing for unspecified damages.

UPDATE: 5:48 PM ET -- An ICM spokesperson just gave TMZ the following statement: "Ms. Robinson's allegations are completely baseless. ICM denies any and all wrongdoing and will vigorously defend this action."

16. I'm very surprised by the responses on the website. Comments like "welcome to Hollywood" or "that's what you get" are truly disturbing and deranged. While I do not know all the facts of this issue, Claire Robinson claims that people have raped her should be treated seriously and not as a joke. People like Mike, Terri, and Woody... if you ever hope to have kids one day... you won't. You're cursed.

18. Ms. Claire Robinson, I suspect, graduated from University where they teach that regret is rape.

Ms. Robinson had her hurt feelings, and now she wants to get back at this guy. Men are bad, women are victims.

19. If some of you truly are women, you should be ashamed. Rape under any circumstance is not acceptable. Perhaps you are jealous because you are ugly, or perhaps you are actually men using women's names.

If gender pay disparity didn't exist, or the glass ceiling, and if women had an equal shot at high paying prominent jobs of influence they wouldn't be relentlessly exploited and sexualized. Men treat women like sex slaves who should then be thrown out like trash when they are used up or old. Guess what, fellas? Women are not your toys to manhandle and exploit. Likewise, women need to empower themselves and not fulfill the exploitation which also makes it harder for women who don't. Regardless, rape and sexual harassment is never ok. Sexual harassment goes on all the time in the entertainment business, and if you are a woman who won't play it makes your job 10 times harder than any man's.

21. -I was listening to a radio show hosted by a well known female therapist a few months ago.
A young woman in college called because she had taken a liking to this guy. The guy had really never paid any attention to her. She happened to go to a bar where several mutual friends had gathered. After the bar she went to his apartment and slept with him.

He left in the morning and hasn't called her since. She asked the host if she should file sexual assault charges on him.
Thankfully the female host gave her a good verbal lashing. The host explained to the girl that you freely slept with this man hoping a relationship would develop.

When he indicates that he doesn't want a relationship after sleeping together, much as he did before the consensual sex you now want to cry rape.

23. This happens ALL THE TIME. My sister was an actress. Various people would tell her to go to parties to meet influential people in the business. All it was, was horny guys who wanted action. They'd get drunk, take drugs, if you said no, they might knock you around. After a couple of these parties my sister said she didn't want to go. Her manager said she had to go and be polite with all the people and pretend to have fun. She went and again, they'd get drunk, take drugs and get foreceful. My sister had to call me a couple of times for help. Another time the guy who ran Toyota here in CA up in Hollywood Hills met her on the street walking around. He said he's auditioning for more toyota commercials. She could have a special interview at his house before the formal one. I went with her.She went into a room with him. Five minutes later she comes out screaming "no way!" Then this old ugly guy looks at the next girl in line in his living room and says "who wants to be in a toyota commercial." He was only wearing tight red underwear. Yech. This is why I never would want to be in the business.

24. Prosecutor Craig Silverman, “For 16 years, I was a kick-ass prosecutor who made most of my reputation vigorously prosecuting rapists. ... I was amazed to see all the false rape allegations that were made to the Denver Police Department. ... A command officer in the Denver Police sex assaults unit recently told me he placed the false rape numbers at approximately 45%.”

25. TO TIFFIANY & WOW -

I'm gonna guess that your not from around these parts....whats disgusting about all this is that this women a.k.a. victim is making claims without a police report or physical evidence to back it up against a man that has been in this business FOR YEARS!!!!!!. I believe if anyone thought this was remotely true then the comments would be a bit different. Also, I'm sure that those of us who do work in this industry know all to well how people try to get the fast buck and are therefore not believing these accusations.

30. wow,
Ii have kids now and none of them are stupid enough or have such a lack of self worth to allow this to happen. And if it did they sure as hell would report it. where's the police report? where's the rape kit" oh yeah, she didn't think it was 'rape' till she didn't get the part. Maybe it's you that's cursed... with a lack of a clue? This has all the earmarks of a woman scorned.
