Actress Claims Sexual Battery Against ICM

MIss British ColumbiaThe former Miss British Columbia 2004 claims in a lawsuit one of the biggest talent agencies in the world promised her stardom but instead -- she says she became the victim of a sexual assault.

Claire Robinson claims in her suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, International Creative Management (ICM) "hip-pocketed" her -- that's a term used when a senior agent takes an inexperienced actress without credits under his wing. The suit claims the agency "sexually exploited the 'hip-pocketed' actresses" they brought in.

Robinson claims in her lawsuit she was "sexually battered in an ICM limousine en route to a Paramount Studio event." The suit goes on ..."Robinson was later raped by another co-conspirator." Robinson claims the alleged rapist is a talent manager who conspired with ICM Executive VP Jack Gilardi.

Robinson claims Gilardi accepted bribes -- in the form of cash and gold watches -- in return for "hip pocketing" an actress who his friends wanted to "sexually exploit."

Robinson says the "hip-pocketing" practice is conducted "under the nose of Jeffrey Berg, the Chairman of ICM, in full view of its employees," and is an "inside joke" or "dirty secret," known by all within the entertainment industry.

Robinson's attorney Perry Wander tells TMZ "This case was filed as a class action because Ms. Robinson has since learned that this scheme has ensnared other actresses who were 'hip-pocketed' by ICM and sexually exploited."

She's suing for unspecified damages.

UPDATE: 5:48 PM ET -- An ICM spokesperson just gave TMZ the following statement: "Ms. Robinson's allegations are completely baseless. ICM denies any and all wrongdoing and will vigorously defend this action."

46. Little stands between a man falsely accused of rape and a long stretch in prison. Being accused of rape is enough. Those dudes are in a bad place if they did it or not.

They probably had sex with her because American women are whores, but I doubt guys were raping women at this company.

47. Wow, I'm sorry to hear of her experience. I hope she wins, because she will never work in this town again. Not being mean, it's just true.

48. How do you think I got the "Jell-O" commercial when I was a kid, "Watch it wiggle, see it jiggle..."

49. Hollywood is a depraved place in the sun. Check out this report, "CANNES, France (AFP) - Spanish film-maker Pedro Almodovar, explaining Tuesday how he directs his cast, jokingly claimed he once performed oral sex on an actress to show how he wanted it done. " ......

50. Lawsuit is at lasuperiorcourt.org search civil lawsuits for her name. Not all docs will be online. If you don't see them online there, call a legal courier to get them for you. It'll be about $75.

My sister was with ICM. She was told she had to go to parties just to meet people in the biz and mingle. She was not told people would get drunk, take drugs and try to be forceful. After it happened the first time she didn't want to go again but her person at ICM apologized for what happened at the first party and said this will be a different party. It wasn't. If you complain about the treatment they say they will drop you as a client and your career will be destroyed forever.

We did check out the Toyota guy. He was the guy in charge. We thought the home interview was odd which is why I went along. He said he chooses the people in the commercials himself. They just have the public call so they look like they are looking for other people when they aren't. My sister is no longer in show business for these reasons.

Just think next time you look at celebrities. They had to put out in their early careers to get work. They were willing to do it. Others weren't. When you look upon a movie star know that they were probably giving a BJ on their knees on stained carpeting to some old dude just to get in a tv commercial in the background with no lines. That's how you become a star.

51. These guys won't be touched, they have money. Their big dogs will cap her to shut her up and the other girls won't speak up because they are to scared. When I see all these HW starletes I can only imagine what they went through to get there. Unless you have mob bosses on yourside forget it.

52. With sexual liberation comes consequences.

Instead of feeding young women misinformation that encourages them to invent rape claims, feminists should teach young women what consent means, and that after-the-fact regret about one-night stands -- although a common, indeed natural, feeling for women -- does not negate consent.

54. Craig Silverman, a Prosecutor known for his zealous prosecution of rapists during his 16-year career, says that false rape accusations occur with "scary frequency." As a regular commentator on the Kobe Bryant trial for Denver's ABC affiliate, Silverman noted that "any honest veteran sex assault investigator will tell you that rape is one of the most falsely reported crimes." According to Silverman, a Denver sex-assault unit commander estimates that nearly half of all reported rape claims are false.

55. I guess Jack has been personally assaulting for almost 40 years. I heard about it from one of his victims before the term sexual assault was even used, she was the victim and she was traumatized. Damn, they'll probably settle and it will just go away.

56. Posted at 6:45PM on May 19th 2009 by NO NO NO - TOTALLY BOGUS

First of all, she went to a bar, got drunk & called a man to take her home! Too drunk to tell him thank you and close & lock the door. Too drunk to stop him from putting his hand up her skirt? Too drunk to know what that would lead too? C'mon now! What kind of friends leave their drunk friend in a bar without a ride home?

First of all, tramps go to bars, classy self-respecting women don't! These women run around dressed like desperate d*ck hunters & wonder why men approach them in a sexual way. H E L L O, your boobs are going to pop out any minute and your ass cheek is hanging out the bottom of your dress and your in a bar!!!!! Don't blame this on men, sure they should take some responsibility, but these women need to educate themselves, have respect for themselves & stop relying on a man & his money/fame to satisfy them, doesn't work that way! Stop barhopping & d*ckhunting and use your brain & these things wouldn't happen! If you have no talent, own it & move on, but don't stoop to the level of sex, nudity & bootycalling, cause then you're an untalented trick!!!!!!

Stop crying rape when things don't work out the way you want them to. If you have been raped, call 911 immediately....not 2 weeks or 2 years later!!! IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!

57. Hey Mike,
If you really do have kids which you claim you do, you might want to listen to them if they ever come to you with problems. Try not to use words like "stupid" if they make mistakes or get into trouble. Heaven forbid something bad should happen to them and you put the onus on them for "lacking self-worth" and putting themselves in dumb situations. We all need to take responsibilities for our actions, but sometimes bad things do happen to innocent people. I don't know if Claire Robinson is telling the truth, but she deserves to be heard without immediate judgment.

58. These women are very brave and fabulous for telling their story in court documents. Maybe they used sex to further their career then regretted it. But each woman who had to use sex in place of talent is a victim. Men are bad. Talentless women should not use sex to get a jobs if they are not qualified. Bad men, These women are courageous victims.

59. ICM Executive VP Jack Gilardi, you old greedy italian Pimp!!! You have some nerve disgracing your adult children and former wife Annette Funicello for cash and a prestigious watch. It is time for you to get your head outta where-the-sun don't shine and retire. Does anyone know if he is presently re-married to anyone? What a sleaze!
