62. The city I live in is riddled with gang banger violent crime. I have to go to work in this mess. Some thug is steadily being arrested for murdering some other thug. The really bad thing about it is these guys are either teenagers or in their early 20's. Everyone knows that the never spoken about in polite society truth is these kids have no fathers. The other thing that is also known but never spoken about is that their mothers are often angry, abusive and drug addicts. These children are being raised by the mean streets and RAP MUSIC. When children learn their values from RAPPERS is is any surprise they turn out to be violent offenders? The cowardly leaders in the African American community refuse to call out these dead beat dads. Black men brag about being playas. When more than 60% of your children are born fatherless that is something you need to hang your heads in shame for. Shame on the African American community for behaving irresponsibly , letting your poor children to flounder in the system, for not educating yourselves. The time has come for you to lift yourselves and your children out of the ghetto's. White America is getting sick of your lame excuses. If you father a child then abandon him to the streets and he ends up in prison YOU did this to your own community. Yes, you bet I hate Rap, you can bet there are mass millions who feel like I do. It glorifies the shameful behaviors that keeps your communities nearly unlivable. I don't know any white person who would live any place near your neighborhoods because they are generally disgusting, nasty and infested places. You somehow want to insist we are racists because we totally disrespect a culture that won't even look after it's own children! Give me a break. We don't have your poor children. We don't deny them opportunities for education. Personally I would jump for joy if blacks got educated and starting acting like decent human beings. Don't expect me to filled with love for a community of men who are too cowardly to step up to the plate and save this generation from destroying itself. You dead beat parents out there all 60 to 70% of you African American men are beyond reprehensible and I got nothing for you. It is truly mind blowing that as a white person I fear for the future of your communities than you do your self. There aren't words in the human language to describe how utterly disgraceful you have become to people who sacrifice their whole lives for the betterment of their children, their communities and their futures. Just because you are too tired, lazy and low to raise your kids don't sit back and cry racism. Sometimes the truth hurts.

While I am always happy to see young blacks on the path to professional careers, as one who has held my law degree for over 25 years, I am disturbed by your apparent lack of critical analytical skills. Do you REALLY think it is WHITES who are stopping young blacks from "becom[ing] somebody." Are whites killing you in record numbers and preventing you from even reaching middle age?

Per the CDC's 2008 release of "Cause of Death" statistics, among black males aged 15 to 34, the leading cause of death is HOMICIDE -- black men killing black men!! Should not THAT statistic be your primary concern, rather than what some Cheetos-ingesting redneck thinks of you? Among white males, homicide isn't even in the top ten.

In another interesting "death-watch" statistic, in 2008 the CDC reported that 48% of all new HIV infections occured in black men between the ages of 13 and 29. THIRTEEN!!!! That isn't even a man, but a CHILD. (Among white males, new infections are predominately among men aged 30 to 39). But young black males are having sex with older black men who are already infected. These young men then go off and infect black women, perpetuating the black-on-black cycle of death preventable. (AIDS is the #1 cause of death for black women.)

To continue to focus on white racism is disingenuous (and illogical). The biggest threat to black accomplishment -- to black LIFE -- is others blacks. The violence and misogyny promoted in rap and hip hop play a vital role in forming the pervasive self-haterd that underlies the senseless deaths. Every other form of music and "art" exists WITHOUT the violence and vulgariry that is an integral part of rap/hip hop. Why do you ignore the obvious facts and instead blame whites who have NOTHING to do with what blacks are doing to THEMSELVES?

If change is to occur, it is incumbent upon EDUCATED blacks to employ critcal analysis. Skin color should not be an excuse for mindless violence. Make this young man's senseless death stand for something! STOP KILLING YOURSELVES!!! Whites are laughing at the sheer absurdity of your own self destruction. You are eradicating yourselves with an efficiency that the KKK could never accomplish. ACT LIKE YOU HAVE SOME SENSE!

70. Oh I see. Just because he was a young black rapper that automatically makes him a violent predator in today’s society? People that never met him are judging him, and are even praising the fact that he is gone. Sick! That is such a sick stereotype. Did you see the interview with Dolla where he said he fell in love with music because every Sunday him, his mom, and his sister all got together and collectively cleaned the house. His mom played R&B all day. He fell in love with music. He then started pursuing a rap career. What some people need to do is not take every lyric, or verse so seriously. I myself say when I get mad at someone “I am going to kill them” DO I act that action out? No. Would I ever? No. So if he says something in a lyric you should understand that is part of a story, and one he might not be telling from a first person perspective. I am not going to sit here and waste my breath. Ignorance breeds hate, and hate breeds ignorance. Some of you scared white men need to really need to sit back and figure out why you are so scared of black men. P.S. I am a white woman in my 30’s and I do like some rap music, and I am disgusted that the people on here can make such comments. You better pray to the Lord above, because when Judgment comes for you, will you be ready?

71. wow this is amazing i knew this guy not really personally but at a restaurant that i used to work he visited ther just about everytime he came to town him and his people and not in a million years would i have expected this this was the coolest guy ever ,him and his friends very respectful and alsways tipped well when he came to visit the restaurant was always a pleasure to see them coming because i knew a good laugh was coming and he felt right at home with us i am so sorry that all this has happened and my heart goes out to dolla's family as well but i just dont see this in aubrey's character im sorry i just don't and people stop judging all the time does anyone have any empathy walk in someone elese shoes one time and guess what you may just see another side and thats what people dont do anymore is have empathy. peace to all
