comment to post 43- I don't care what color Vick is, he's a twisted, perverted dog killer who liked watching his male dogs repeatedly rape the same female whos teeth were removed to prevent her biting while strapped to a "RAPE RACK" They should have hung him by his B$&&S. Sick BA$&ARD.

Will's Mom

The green pastures and idyllic barnyard scenes of years past are now distant memories. On today's factory farms, animals are crammed by the thousands into filthy windowless sheds, wire cages, gestation crates, and other confinement systems. These animals will never raise their families, root in the soil, build nests, or do anything that is natural to them. They won't even feel the sun on their backs or breathe fresh air until the day they are loaded onto trucks bound for slaughter.

Animals on today's factory farms have no legal protection from cruelty that would be illegal if it were inflicted on dogs or cats: neglect, mutilation, genetic manipulation, and drug regimens that cause chronic pain and crippling, transport through all weather extremes, and gruesome and violent slaughter. Yet farmed animals are no less intelligent or capable of feeling pain than are the dogs and cats we cherish as companions.

The factory farming system of modern agriculture strives to maximize output while minimizing costs. Cows, calves, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and other animals are kept in small cages, in jam-packed sheds, or on filthy feedlots, often with so little space that they can't even turn around or lie down comfortably. They are deprived of exercise so that all their bodies' energy goes toward producing flesh, eggs, or milk for human consumption. The giant corporations that run most factory farms have found that they can make more money by cramming animals into tiny spaces, even though many of the animals get sick and some die. Industry journal National Hog Farmer explains, "Crowding Pigs Pays," and egg-industry expert Bernard Rollins writes that "chickens are cheap; cages are expensive."

They are fed drugs to fatten them faster and to keep them alive in conditions that would otherwise kill them, and they are genetically altered to grow faster or to produce much more milk or eggs than they would naturally. Many animals become crippled under their own weight and die within inches of water and food.

While the suffering of all animals on factory farms is similar, each type of farmed animal faces different types of cruelty.

WAKE UP PEOPLE. MIKE VICK IS ONE PERSON. PUT ALL THIS HATRED TOWARD CORPORATE AMERICA THAT TORTURES ANIMALS FOR A LIVING. ARE OU WILLING TO GIVE UP YOUR BURGERS, CHICKEN, STEAK, ICE CREAM AND FUR AND LEATHER PRODUCTS!!! NO. SO GET OFF THE FREAKING SOAP BOX. YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN VICK. I DARE YOU TO GO TO WWW.GOVEG.COM AND WATCH EITHER OF THOSE HIDDEN CAMERA VIDEOS AND THEN RUN TO THE GROCERS LIKE YOU'RE ALL INNOCENT!

While dog fighting and Michael Vick will always be associated together, let’s remember that the American justice system has run its course. Michael Vick’s punishment extends far beyond the year-and-a-half he spent in federal prison. Vick has been humbled and shamed. His NFL career is in jeopardy and as Jim Litke mentioned in this story, Vick has lost upwards of $50 million dollars in salary and endorsements.

Complicated

Vick didn't just bankroll a dog fighting ring as tmz lightly put it, he murdered dogs with his own bare hands because they didn't perform to his standards, he used rape stands on his female dogs, he tortured and abused these dogs for his own sick amusement. He's not sorry about it, he's sorry he got caught. Does anyone even realize the type of mind it takes to inflict that kind of abuse upon dozens of animals? That's not something that can be corrected by a short prison sentence.

Should he get a second chance at life, absolutely. But he does not deserve another chance to play football and become a role model to young kids and regain his fame.

Vick is out of jail. What always scared me about him was the fact he LIKED what he did to the dogs, he GOT OFF on what he did to the dogs. Vick is a Sadist. Human or animal.

Piss off...wanker, and the rest of you "v-ICK" supporters. First of all my children were raised to respect and love animals, and to NEVER intentionally hurt them. This is abhorrent behaviour and I don't give a rats ass what colour you are.....but your asinine comments only show your lack of education and typical wannabe "gangsta" mindset.
As far as ICK making a living to support his family....who the hell cares?
Those of you saying we're "Jealous"....Oh Puhleeze....jealous of WHAT? OF THAT?. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ....besides. I probably pay more in taxes than you low lifes earn in a year.

Ghandi said, "you can judge a nation's morality by the way they treat their animals". ...

I Remove Heads From Asses

Gahndi also spoke about his admiration for Jesus christ in that he died for what he believed and lived by his teachings of forgiveness and unity..."I like your Christ, i do not like your Christians. Your Christians they are so unlike your christ" - Ghandi

Phillip Yancey recalls a story from his book The Soul Survivor.

Gandhi and Reverend Andrews, a Presbyterian missionary, were walking together in South Africa. “The two suddenly find their way blocked by young thugs. Reverend Andrews takes one look at the menacing gangsters and decides to run for it. Gandhi stops him. ‘Doesn’t the New Testament say if an enemy strikes you on the right cheek you should offer him the left?’ Andrews mumbles that he thought the phrase was used metaphorically. ‘I’m not so sure,’ Gandhi replies. ‘I suspect he meant you must show courage - be willing to take a blow, several blows, to show you will not strike back nor will you be turned aside. And when you do that it calls on something in human nature, something that makes his hatred decrease and his respect increase. I think Christ grasped that and I have seen it work.’”

This active nonviolence that Gandhi preached and practiced brought freedom to the millions of Indians previoiusly called Untouchables. He began by giving them a new name. Rather than Untouchables, he called them Harijans, or Children of God. He called them brothers and stayed in their homes as much as possible. This was radical because others would not be seen with them and would not dare touch them much less talk to them and fellowship with them. One hundred million people in India now call themselves by a blessing rather than a curse because of the courage of this man. He believed in the dignity of each person, women, lepers, lower caste members, children. The Scriptures make clear that the poor and needy are close to the heart of God, and they were close to Gandhi’s heart as well. Whatever you think about his religious beliefs, and no matter how much you or I may disagree with his beloved religion of hinduism, he shows us a beautiful picture in a human life lived in humility, peace, and courageous love.

we do no help the situation by persecution

He deserves no special treatment because he plays football. Every one that says he served his time, let him be are hypocritical. What if he touiched a kid. Do you people say oh well, he surved his time, no need for him to be on a national registry. No. When you get out your punishment continues. So should his. Like I said, he deserves no special treatment.

This POS won't be playing in the NFL anytime soon, if ever. Art Blank (Falcons owner) issued a statement today that Vick will never play for Atlanta. The owner of the Colts - "we would NEVER consider signing Vick.". NFL Commish Goodell is planning to take a meeting w/Vick at some point. Besides the heinous dog fighting operation, there are serious gambling issues that may alone bar him from the NFL..
It's all about money for these team owners, they want to put fans in the stands. Vick is a PR nightmare, Why bother with all the controversy when there are so many great up-and-coming YOUNG QB's. I

I hope Vick enjoys his new gig - a $10/hr. construction job, starting Monday. I he works really hard, he may make foreman someday!
