Nas to Kelis: Pay Your Own Damn Way

NASNas, one of the biggest and richest rappers around, does not want to pay his estranged, pregnant wife, Kelis, a penny in spousal support.

Kelis filed for divorce April 30. She's weeks from giving birth and unable to work, but no matter to Nas -- he's filed his response to the divorce, asking the judge to deny her the spousal support she's seeking. For bad measure, he also wants her to pay her own lawyer's fees.

Nas and Kelis both want joint custody of their unborn child.

Kelis cites "irreconcilable differences" for the divorce, but we're told she believes he was cheating on her and that's what buzz-killed the marriage.

62. 1. Spousal support is not the same as child support. 2. Nas is seeking joint custody of the child. How does that make him a "deadbeat"? I think people just don't like rappers and speak without thinking.

63. Noone said he didn't want to take care of his baby....spousal suppourt and child support are 2 completely different things. Kelis had to have made SOME type of money, she will be good. And if some of you read previous stories there is talk of a sex tape that she has out there....if she cheated then she shouldn't get anything.

Threepack,u are an idiot.this woman has a music career and has made enough to last for years,he should not pay spousal support.they will have joint custody,so why he cant provide for his child?Nas is a good dude,yall are the TRL group and dont know about rap much.she DONT deserve spousal support...PERIOD.she aint had anything to do with his success....plus,she has a career also...heck,she just stopped doin shows @ 7mos pregnant.you all are stupid...dont let her ungrateful a** get nada

70. She did make her own money..She may need to step down her means of living to a lower class to be able to support herself and her child without spousal support. I think if she really did cheat (haven't and don't wanna see a video) NO SPOUSAL SUPPORT, If she didn't cheat, I think 6 months of spousal support is sufficiant enough for her to find a job, or continue with her career and be a working mom like the rest of us...very seldom do people deserve a free hand-out! You always gotta learn the hard way..
