NY Real Housewife Really Hates New Jersey

She loves the ladies of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" but New York's Bethenny Frankel sure didn't have kind words for the Garden State itself -- basically calling it a useless place where people get trapped and can never leave.

47. I'm surprised she didn't whip out one of her "famous" lines like, "Homey don't play dat in Joisey" or "I had to check myself before I wrecked myself by going to Joisey." After all she's so "funny" and "witty" and works so hard to "keep it real." GAG!

48. They're all revolting. JillZarin seems to think that as long as she does something for chaaaarity she can act like a 12 year old with PMS and daddy's credit card the rest of the time. Bethenny LIVES to be a victim. She sets herself up to be a victim and then pats herself on the back for overcoming her imaginary obstacles. LuAnn is a pretentious idiot. Kelly is just too stupid for words. Bravo needs to stick to one season per city. That way we don't see these creatures long enough to see the swelling of their bulbous heads.

50. New Jersey is actually a very pretty state... though some of the people are just plain strange. The Real Housewives of New Jersey don't reflect on the state positively. Those broads are nuts. The housewives clothes and hair styles are right out of the 80's. Can you say "Tony Soprano."

51. She is right. I moved to New Jersey from Philadelphia for a job a year ago. I cried for a month. I am doing everything I can to get back home. I go every weevkend to vist friends and family. Other than the Jersey shore, this state SUCKS!! big time.

52. I am a native New York City resident and I have to say, I completely agree with Bethenny. I am not sure where the disgust for New Jersey comes from but I do believe it is an innate belief of every native New York City resident. New Jersey is the restroom stop for New Yorkers traveling West. New Jersey rides New York City's coattails, it really does have a funky odor (especially the area just across the George Washington Bridge), and the women are just plain trashy.

54. New Jersey is next to Philly, also, so it's not just the burbs of NYC.

And isnt it true NYC is NOT like "friends"?

55. Isn't Queens and Nassau Co the same as N. NJ? I've visited the Tri-State region and outside of Manhatten/Brooklyn, the sprawl is like a dirtier Los Angeles, if that's possible.

57. Is Bethenny really aware that New Jersey is the most expensive state surpassing New York and Hawaii? Probably not, there are some excellent areas of the state like the Jersey Shore and Princeton. Not only do we have a lot of celebrities who have been born and bred here, we also have celebrities who call Jersey home too. We also have a lot of corruption in our political system that even Louisiana can envy. Some towns like Franklin Lakes for instance used to be the home to Kelly Ripa and her husband before they moved back to New York City because of Kelly's schedule. We have just as many expensive towns like Connecticut. Yes, we are the most congested and people, mostly ex-New Yorkers, are upset that they can't afford their own native city anymore and make the move to Jersey. I love New York City and my sister lives there but she can afford it. Believe me, there are lots of people who wish they can afford to live in New York City but they can't. People who work in New York City can barely afford to live there. If you look at the list of victims from 09-11-01, you will see that hundreds were from Jersey as well. Many of the rich financiers live in the posh countryside of the state while many of us are struggling to survive in this economy. It's not easy to get a job here. Yes, we're close to NYC and it's not the same. I recommend tourists and visitors to get a real grasp at city life by going to Penn or Grand Central Station during rush hour and watching the hoards of commuters catch their trains. I was one of them. Many people who are in NYC at any given time don't live in the city. I think Bethenny owes New Jersey an apology for offending our state. We have hundreds of celebrities, politicians, activists, artists, and others who come from the garden state. I think we should be renamed Soprano State.

59. Stuiped - Cutie yes, across the George Washington Bridge on the NY side B'way and 178th the woman are trashy, you have it backwards. It's filty and dirty over there because of the people. All states have bad sections so most of you have no right to say anything about NJ. If you can' get out of it that is your prob!! I love living here I can be in NY in a few minutes they get out of that rat trap and come back to my serene place. All of those idiots think they own NY and others can't come there, who are they to say anything they sound like a bunch of 5 year olds where did they come from originally. NJ is a beautiful state and it doesn't have all traffic like people are saying. They are trying to jump on the band wagon. And the West coast stinks!!

60. I'm a born and raised Jersey girl living in the 3rd most expensive county in the US. Bethenny has a point. I totally hate it here. My husband's job keeps us here, though. Most people in NJ think they don't crap with an odor.
