123. Danny Gokey should have won. He was the most talented. He had the same raspy, gravely voice as the much maligned Taylor Hicks. He would have been more commercial than Taylor because part of his demographics were substantially younger. Taylor, unfortunately, was handicapped by having an overabundance of very elderly fans who identified with him (hey, he was in his 20's but looked 50), voted for him, but didn't buy his recordings. These people never buy anything but Time/Life hits of the 40's or 50's. When Gokey was eliminated, Kris became his heir apparent. Gokey supporters transferred their votes to Kris. Good for them. America got it right!

Okay I am sooooooooo sick of "Kris can play an instrument" - I didn't realize that was required in order to be able to sing...ANYBODY can learn an instrument (I play three)- not anybody is born with the gift of singing.......and saying Adam Lambert can't sing is like saying Whitney can't sing and guess what - she doesn't play an instrument (as far as I know) and also - people put Adam in the glam-rock category just because of what he sang on idol........just because he can rock those vocals doesn't mean he will go that route...did you listen to tracks of my tears or ONE or a change is gonna come or his michael jackson or Mad World??? oh guess not

ftards - the reason we are so upset he didn't win is because he truly deserved to win....TAylor ruben Fantasia won and they weren't that great but I didn't really care that much - this was different...and even if the voting wasn't rigged or cheated through ARkansas...I think the show had it planned for Kris to win - I think they wait for the top ten and then plan the most upsetting ending - adam made them money...like dirty politics...suddenly toward the end they were talking about the "dark horse" whatever...it all seemed like such an Act. Adam is better than Idol - he was all along...he did everything right ...his performances can't compare to the rest....he really should have won and people are pissed because something isn't right..something happened...it isn't because Kris is better or more preferred...also - Idol will go downhill after Adam...I won't watch next year for two reasons: he lost - and he won't be on next year and nobody will be better than him ever...he is one of the best singers in history....

125. OH and adam WAS and IS the better singer.........I don't even know how people can say they prefer one sound over the other when neither one has come out with an album yet?? But even if people prefer Kris's voice ADam is still the better singer/performer. I prefer....oh....greenday to Mariah Carey but Mariah is a better singer. I prefer Michael Jackson to Whitney but Whitney is the better singer.
