Gary Collins Begins House Arrest

Gary CollinsWe've just learned Gary Collins was booked today in Santa Barbara County, Cal. and is now under house arrest.

Gary was busted back in January for driving a motor home drunk in Santa Barbara -- so drunk that his BAC was an astounding .29, which is more than 3 times the legal limit.

Collins has been sentenced to 120 days, but could only serve 72 days if he abides by the rules.

16. The bastard should have been incarcerated. If it was an unknown individual, you can bet they would be doing time.

17. Why was he driving a motor home like a homeless drunk? Was it because he had a big refridgerator full of beer in the back as well as a bed for him to pass out on? Sounds like something those other two drunks, Mel Gibson and Nick Nolte, should have.

19. He was married for many years to mary ann mobley. She was a beauty and very beautiful. I was wondering if they are still married. They had a daughter together. I don't understand why someone would even want to drive when they have been drinking. Seems like the rich would have a driver or call a cab if they must go out to dring. Alcoholics have a very hard time trying to kick the habit because of all the commercials showing cold frothy beer all the time and now this weirdo doing a commercial saying, stay thirsty my friend. He is no one's friend to do an ad like that. But, hell will be full of rich people getting rich at the expense of others losing their lifes. I don't get it. I have seen alcohol as the root of destruction for many families and yet it is legal because it pads the pocket of so many. Marijuana has never been known to cause one death but people go to prison every day over it. I don't do either but if I had a choice of which influence would be the safest, it sure wouldn't be alcohol. Back to gary collins and the millions like him. These people need real help. There is no rehab in those expensive centers or the poor man's center. It comes from within and there must be a solution to helping an addict want help. We need to remember, rich or poor, our pain is the same.

20. This is OUTRAGEOUS-House Arrest??? Whatever happened to going to jail for breaking the law? He could have killed somebody with his drunkeness-or badly injured innocent people. Thank GOD that did not happen this time; but it will unfortuneatly happen all too often. He is not even being punished for his behavior. Next it will be rapists, and murderers on house arrest. What a total joke our system is!!!

23. House arrest sounds pretty good to me! 72 days to lie in the sun, sleep late, play with my dogs, work out - sign me up! Such is the life of the idle rich. Back to the office tomorrow - 'night all.

24. The kind of damage someone can do driving a motorhome drunk is terrifying. A truck totaled my car and I couldn't work for 6 years - and the driver was stone cold sober. A .30 is almost 4 times the legal limit!

He should have received a real sentence...Plus additional time for helping that Russ Dalby creep flog his get rich quick scam on late night infomercials.

26. Thank god he didn't kill anyone - house arrest ok as long as he never gets behind the wheel again drunk. if he does, get his sorry ass in a jail cell & introduce him to his cell mate Bubba.
