Sources at "American Idol" tell us the margin between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert "wasn't even close" -- and the biggest factor in Allen's win was Danny Gokey.
Here's what we know. The "lion's share" of Gokey's votes went to Kris Allen. The extent of the lopsidedness surprised a lot of the big wigs at "A.I." We were not told the exact votes but our sources say the AT&T scandal had no impact on the outcome -- the spread was that wide.
91. I just don't understand how the finale of AI this year was the *least* watched ever.. but had the highest number of votes in the history of the show.
thats a sign that the people who were voting did not even care who won, just who *didn't* win.
I don't think Kris and Adam deserve this 'culture clash' and 'corruption in the system' stuff.. its not really about them personally, well.. it is a bit (adam losing b/c of the rallying of christians)... but its about the question: what is the point in voting if it is rigged? I mean we all know once the word spreads to the religious community that 'jesus wouldn't approve', no one gets the votes out like they do.

94. of course Kris got Gokey's votes....sadly most conservative Christians will not vote for a gay man..today on the View Kara was asked by Barbara Walters if she thought the fact of Adam's sexuality played in the voting....her response"I would hope not"...in this country that has not been the case and due to ignorance and intolerance, I do not see it happening...btw, I am a 60 year old white grandmother and I voted for Adam and I am also proud to say my children were raised in a home that did not tolerate "Intolerance"....

95. Well of course Gokey fans sided with Kris. It's not all because of the Christian thing its because of their rivalry with Adam's fans. They either voted for Kris or didn't vote at all. Kris deserved all those votes no matter who they came from and he won. Give it a rest, everybody!

97. Im a Danny Gokey fan! After Danny Gokey was eleminated, I voted for Adam Lambert, I dont think Kris Allen is a good singer, dont get me wrong, he is talented. I think he won because he is really good looking. Adam Lambert will be a major star, I just wish he wouldnt wear all that makeup and get a makeover, and I wish he wasnt gay. He really is good looking, kinda looks like Elvis Prelsy.

98. So when you say that Kris won because of the Gokey vote, you actually mean the religious vote. So Kris actually did win because of the religious vote. It's weird how the term sources keeps getting used instead of names. In the original stories about the AT & T situation they actually had used names of sources. I just personally think the entire season became a joke in the end.

99. The point isn't gay or not gay, strait or not strait. It is the failure by the majority of this countries american idol watchers can't recognize true talent. maybe you don't like him you are entitled to your opinion, however the truth is this: There are hundreds of thousands of chris allens out there, and there is only one Adam Lambert, there is no other male artist in the mainstream right now who is as current, as groomed, or posesses the vocal chops that he has. so sure i expected chris allen to win because this country recognizes mediocrity...which is fine, but please don't try to equate these two artists based upon talent because it's unrealistic to put them in the same league, they just arent. 4 or 5 years from now, no one will care about chris allen, 4 or 5 years from now, adam lambert will have become not just somebody riding the tails of their american idol success, but a superstar in his own right, whom i predict will stand the test of time.

On Faox good day LA, they had sources that said the only reason the numbers of votes for each was not give out this year for the first time was because the count betwwn the contestants was so close it would have potentially been contraversial. It became that way anyway, when later, it was the AT & T phone scandel. The difference in the number of votes between the winner and runner up was given all previous sever saasons- not this time as I said. And Fos am show sources said, once again I repeat, it was so close as to be a potentioan situation is numbers were revealed.
