What a Twit -- Al Roker Takes Pics of Jurors

Al Roker just pulled a big no-no -- according to a court official we spoke with in New York.

Al -- who is on jury duty -- took a pic in the jury assembly room in a NYC courtroom. The pic shows some of the prospective jurors -- Al posted it on his Twitter page. The official told us no one is allowed to take such pics -- but Al's rep just told us Mr. Roker got permission from a court official.

Al Roker

We just called the court official back and told them that Al got the OK. The official said if Al really did get permission to take the pic, the person who approved it "was ill-advised." The official said it's not OK, but if Al got bogus advice, it's not his fault.

Al Roker: Click to watchAl just posted the following comment on his Twitter page:

"I'm not breaking laws...just trying to share the experience of jury duty. One that I think is important and everyone should take part in ... So everyone is clear, I am NOT taking pictures in the courtroom. I am in the jury lounge. So folks need to lighten up."

18. Al is a pompous a-hole. He acts like jury duty is some exclusive privilege. Most of us adults have done jury duty at least once. It's not that interesting. Who would follow Mr Lipo on twitter anyway?

22. It is wrong, an invasion of privacy, and he should be charged.
The person who gave him permission should be fired. They work for the court system and they don't even know how to do their job? The ones who think it is okay are the ones who have never served on a jury or know what the meaning of respect is.
Al, stick to the weather and leave the judicial system to us. It's safer.

23. Well naturally someone would hollar they'd sue, rolls eyes, if you feel your privacy was invaded (and rightfully so), you shall be than rightfully released from duty - goodbye. Screw you thinking you have the right to sue and make a buck and waste more tax payers dollars lady. As for Al getting permission, whether he did or didn't, either way it's wrong, wrong of him and or wrong of if he was given permission (which I highly doubt). Doesn't matter where the hell you are......you're INSIDE a federal courthouse, I do believe PICTURE TAKING IS FORBIDDEN PERIOD (pretty sure there are signs posted stating such). So no lightening up Mr. Roker.

25. lighten up? did you ask everyone if they wanted their picture taken? I wouldn't have liked it! And then posting it on the internet? Did you ask everyone about that, too? Some people are so self-involved!

26. Even if it was approved, it was invasive, inappropriate and downright rude. Akin to taking a photo at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

In other words, exactly what one would expect from the old blowhard.

Al, your 15 minutes are up. Please go away now.
